To welcome in the New Year, we drove home from McCall, celebrated Zac's birthday with the Pete family, & Layne came to play games with Zac & spend the night. Lance & Kelsey got Zac a couple movies that we are excited about along with a lifetime supply of starburst/skittles which are two of his favorites & my parents gave him a card that said on the front, "we hope this birthday gift..." and on the inside said, "fits you just right," and had a picture of a suit from a magazine with Zac's head as the model! It totally cracked us up. And, we are so grateful for the opportunity to get Zac a new suit as the one he's had has been his only one for the past seven years and is getting pretty worn out! Dad also made awesome ribs in his new Traeger & a delicious sheet cake which Grayson inhaled. When Grayson had worn out his welcome, we decided it was time to leave! Thanks parents & everyone else that remembered Zac's birthday & sent cards, e-mails, phone calls, and Mom & Dad C for the money to spend on something fun. I had a couple hours in the evening before bed to think of a couple goals I have for this year & am excited to work on the things I've set for myself. I am thankful in so many ways for 2009 & am ready to begin a new year with a fresh start & so many great things in our future-namely a new baby {thanks to Grandpa Newell & his crazy dream, Grayson now refers to baby brother as "hickory baldwin"}.
I have many things I am striving to be better at & always want to work on numerous aspects of my life, but here are a few things I am focusing on in "twenty-ten:"
-Project Life (same as p365-picture & journaling each day-so far, 2 for 2!)
-Read Scriptures Daily
-Attend the temple with Zac every other week (also our couple's gift to Jesus for the year)
-Be prayerful & proactive
-Serve my friends & family more often
-Notice & enjoy the every day things with Grayson more frequently
-Be much healthier after baby boy enters the world-lose baby weight within a reasonable time period (will set more specific goals as this one nears & becomes reality)
-Send more thank you notes & try to instill this in Grayson

Glad you guys got to have such a memorable birthday for Zac! Happy Birthday Zac! Love the fun pictures from the previous post and I love your family picture! You guys are great and I can't wait to get the time to get up there! Now that Nick has more of a schedule...meaning every weekend off...we can plan for something like that better. Hopefully soon, I miss you!!!
