oh happy day

Gray was in his high chair this morning eating breakfast and he said, "more ogurt please." I told him that he'd had enough, cleaned him up and was washing his dishes before getting him out. He finally got so fed up with me not getting him out or getting him more yogurt that he said, "help me...find a WAY!" It was hilarious. He kept saying it and I was just cracking up. Then tonight as I was putting him to bed & singing "I am a Child of God," I realized that the chorus says, "Lead me, Guide me, Walk beside me, Help me find the way..." and that he'd totally gotten that line from that song!

My mom & dad watched him for a couple hours this morning so I could get some things done. Dad let him play with a flashlight & I guess he said, "Bampa, look at the flashlight on the ceiling!" Dad later said to me, "What 2 year old knows the word ceiling?!" So funny.

Tonight Zac and Gray were building a "tassle" (castle) out of blocks in the living room. Zac has been telling him every night they do this for the past couple weeks that he needs to start with a better foundation or his castle will fall. Gray ignores him and builds from one thin block every time and then sure enough, it falls over. Zac always builds a stable castle. Tonight I was cleaning the bathroom while they were playing and Zac and I both started laughing super hard when out of the blue Grayson said, "Daddy, I build a foundation." He had built on more than one block! So funny that he remembered the word foundation & how to apply it!

Zac has been using his gift of a gym membership from my parents this week and is loving the feeling of being back in a good routine. He's sore though & I am having to totally get back into the routine of cooking better food & packing meals for him. The trainer at the gym told him during his consultation that he needs to at least be getting 2400 calories a day and can get up to 3000 & be okay. For the past couple years he's probably been getting around 12-1500 at most! Crazy, huh? I wish someone would tell me I could do that!...Oh wait, I am doing that...and it's not good! (: I am so proud of him for working so hard and making himself a priority and fitting it into his busy schedule.

And, in the biggest news from this week, Grayson turned 2 yesterday! He has been such a blessing in our lives & Zac and I were talking about how we totally understand why people whose children are older say that it goes quickly & not to miss a moment because you will forget. To say we are thankful for this little man and his presence in our lives the past two years would not even come close to expressing what we feel about him. He is such a blessing. He has taught us so much about life & each other & Heavenly Father. He makes us want to be better because he is so good. I love all parts of him...even the mischievous & sometimes naughty side. He makes me laugh daily and is tender and loving toward me which I'm grateful for. Tonight after family prayer we were visiting with him and he looked up at the picture of Christ on the wall and whispered, "Jesus, I love you Jesus." Both Zac and I totally teared up and that happens on a frequent basis since having Grayson too. We love you so much Grayson & are so happy Heavenly Father so enriched our lives by sending you to our home.
Because we're celebrating Saturday, we didn't do anything huge for his big day. We did sing to him when he woke up and mom and I ran errands in O-town and he got to ride the horse at wal-mart (something I usually avoid to every extent). Mom bought him a happy meal for lunch which was icing on the cake. She also let him open one present and he was so excited. Then he just stared at the tupperware box like, "What the heck is this?" He LOVED the blanket inside though and has been telling everyone about it. He stayed at their house while I had mutual too and I brought my girls over to sing to him and he blew out one candle in a banana muffin which he thought was great as well. He enjoyed trying on Taylor's boots that she left at home while I was gone and apparently something Grandpa said was VERY funny! I'm glad my Mom thinks to catch him on camera when I'm not there! He got a few calls & cards & visits too so thank you to those who love our boy like we do! He really is a light in our lives & just so much fun to have around!

So cute, love all the words he knows.
I am glad that Zac is enjoying his gift to the gym and lucky him for getting to eat all those calories!
Have a fun time tomorrow celebrating Gray's birthday. Our package should come today, but it isn't a whole lot. Love you!

What a handsome, SMART little boy! SO cute! Have a super, awesome party tomorrow! Glad Zac is able to work out and feel better! Wish I could eat that many calories a day as well!
Yesterday I was telling Kristin about some sweet things that Layla said while playing with her dolls. For example, her barbie (my old barbie) has a wedding dress but Layla always shes she is getting baptized. I told Kristin it is in those moments where I feel like I am not doing so bad as a mom. She said "Those are our paychecks." Those sweet tender moments of Gray's reminded me of that. They are our paychecks! :) Love you!

Grayson is such a smart handsome little boy. I really don't know a 2 year old that is as smart as him. He blows me away. I loved the first picture. Super cute! Gray is such a blessing in your lives but you are also a huge blessing to him. You're one amazing family. I love you!
