a hodge-podge post

Grayson and I had a little date on Tuesday. Bex went to Grami's house while we went to Meridian. We made a stop at Jen's to drop off business stuff, visited with her for a bit, and then headed to both our favorite place...Target! Grayson wanted to walk & he is super good about staying with me so I told him that was fine, but when we got inside and he saw a few strangers, he said, "Mommy-don't you go away from me!" in a kind of scared voice. I think he's getting a little stranger anxiety, which is fine with me because it insures that he stays close to me! He wanted to ride in the cart after all and did great. He is so much fun to take places like that right now. He loves to help me put things in the cart and loves to look at all the cool stuff. He is forever asking if he can buy different things, but doesn't complain when I tell him "not today bubba." He's content getting a small pack of M&M's and is just fun company. Afterward we stopped at Sonic for some french fries for him and a vanilla diet coke for me and within a few minutes, this is how he looked...I tried keeping him awake since it was a little late for napping, but there was no stopping him! We went to pick up "Beckham boo" as Gray calls him, and Doll went out and woke him up. He loves to climb up into this "baby swing" by himself, buckle himself in, and just sit there till someone takes mercy on him and pushes him. Then he won't let them go inside! I bribed him with a push for a smile.
We made a quick trip home to get some stuff done & get in our jammies and then went back to my folks for the Celtics/Lakers game. Pretty sad one if you ask me! Grayson loved vegging on Grami's lap and watching kid tractor movies on youtube-a nightly ritual at our house with his dad as well. (:
Beckham just loves being loved on. He is easily entertained and loves when we make silly faces & voices for him. I love how easily he smiles & his sweet (albeit rare right now) belly laugh.
We were ready to go and Grayson crawled up on the couch and covered himself up declaring that he was "sweeping over the night at Grami's house." Taylor heard him and asked if he wanted to have a sleepover. I was a little skeptical, but he totally loved us goodbye and went downstairs with her. I checked on him before we left and he was tucked in bed whispering her ear off-that'll teach her! (: It was his first official sleepover when we weren't out of town and to be honest, I missed him! Such a silly thing, but just more evidence of how big he's getting. We told them to call if they had any problems or if he wouldn't go to sleep, but he ended up doing great. It was a blessing that he was gone too because Beckham had a LONG & sad night....which leads me to Wednesday morning. First thing-after a long night of high fevers & crying for baby boy-I got ready and took Bex to the doctor. Dr. Matt wasn't working so we saw Dr. Devoe & I like her, but always wish I was seeing their primary doctor when I need him! Anyway, we found out that little Beckham had an ear infection in his left ear. Poor baby! Although I know he wasn't feeling great, he totally hammed up & smiled at the nurse & the doctor-so sweet. She prescribed amoxicillan, so hopefully that will alleviate his pain. We picked up big brother when we got home and spent the day cleaning & working from home. That night when Zac got home from work, he had to run over and check water on the farm. When he got home he got a phone call from one of the stores & was pacing out front (he always walks while he talks). Gray saw him and slipped on his boots and followed him. Up & back, everywhere he walked, Gray would go. It was pretty dang cute. He loves his daddy & I love my guys!
