Both boys hit milestones on the 12th & 13th this month. Bex turned 4 months and Gray turned 2 1/2. Time is flying with them and every day is another great adventure. Love these boys so much and consider myself blessed daily to be their mama. I was a slacker on Gray's 2 year appointment and wanted to wait a bit on his shots anyway, so I scheduled his 2 year & Bex's 4 month on the same day (today). They both did great! The worst part was when Grayson had to stand on the big scale-he wasn't sure about that & then it was fine after I showed him. He totally hammed it up for Dr. Matt during his checkup and didn't even make a peep during or after his shot. He was great & excited to go get a coloring book afterward. Beckham was as smiley as ever & did so well. Cried for about 2 seconds during shots & then smiled & flirted with Rebecca again which I know made her happy. Good healthy boys & a big thanks to Aunt Taylor for accompanying us & helping with extra hands. Here's some stats on our growing boys!
This month Beckham:
-is letting us see his eyes open a little bit more
-has slept every night from about 9:30-7:30 or 8:30 (awesome!)
-developed the cutest little belly laugh
-weighs: 14 lbs. 7 oz. & is 24.5 inches long (beefy baby)
-is easily entertained by everything going on around him
-loves to sit facing out on someone's lap
-lays on the floor and watches Grayson run circles around him
-grabs at things held in front of his face
-kicks, giggles, coos
-found his hands. Loves to eat them, suck on them, and clasp them in front of him like he's praying
-still smiles all the time unless he's hungry or has a bubble
-had his first weekend without mommy & did great
-learned to hold his head up even better & likes sitting in the bumbo for short periods of time (still a bit wobbly after too long)
-loved having a blanket by his face while sleeping & most always pulls it over his face
-got beefier & more kissable
-extremely flexible & easy to take places
-Sleeps great...good napper & at nights from about 8:30-9:30 to 6:30-7:30. Hasn't woken up once in the night this past month. (I think he loves sleep like his dad!)
-loves to be hummed & sung to
-received lots of hugs & kisses from his mom & dad and big brother
-had all of us wrapped even more around his chubby little fingers & love this boy much!
Right now Grayson:
-is a total ham-loves having his picture taken & does things and asks me to document him
-spits when he's mad at us {he got in big trouble for this when he did it in the house, so now he asks if he can spit outside on the sidewalk}
-tells us when he's peeing in his diaper
-Weighs 30 lbs. & is 35 3/4 inches tall (about 50% in both)
-says "what the heck?", "mouse-dork," and "guess what, chicken butt" far more often than I'd like
-is a little leery of being outside by himself if there are crop dusters around
-rubs yogurt on his face & tells us his name is Joseph Smith (have no idea where this came from)
-LOVES nursery
-sings the "banana fana" song & asks me to sing it with every word/name he knows
-total helper. loves to help us vacuum, dust, clean the garage, weed outside, wash cars, etc. Good to help me with Beckham too.
-has a bigger vocabulary than me. seriously.
-Often repeats things we say
-Calls out anyone who says "that one word" {gosh, calls himself & others a "mischief"
-Terrified of water. Hates bathing, swimming, etc. Super scared. I'm hoping this will be a short stage.
-Loves playing at friend's houses (ie: Becca's)
-Almost always answers my statements with questions or probing statements. They totally taught us to do this in our psychology classes in college and it cracks me up and drives me crazy when my 2 year old does it without prompting! For instance:
k-That is a big field of potatoes!
g-is that a big field of potatoes?
k-I'm feeling a little sad today.
g-So why are you feeling sad today mommy?
k-{folding laundry}
g-what are you doing mommy?
k-just folding the clothes
g-so tell me about it.
-Loves riding the gator at Grandpa Alan's house
-More careful about his emotions. If he's feeling upset, scared, etc., he'll often try to be brave and then just break down sobbing if it's too overwhelming. It's pretty cute. Really sensitive when other people tell him no (ie: uncles who usually just play with & tickle him).
-Super picky about eating. Rarely eats anything. Loves apple juice. Won't stop playing for food-even good food...totally not my kid in this respect! (:
-best memory ever.
-Does tricks: somersaults, dancing, jumping
-asks to listen to lady gaga in the car on a regular basis (he heard her gaga song on my glee cd)
-Can sing his ABC's, several primary songs, and nursery rhymes verbatim...although occasionally the words are a little off which we love (ie: oh my darlin, oh my darlin, oh my darlin clementine, you are lost & gonkin-ever, oh my darlin clementine!")
-Possessive about his toys, his mom, his dad, his baby brudder, his things, etc.
-Loves curious George
-Despises his patch. Tells me he doesn't need to wear it & takes it off and hides it when I force him to...
-Answers most questions with: "I don't know." and then answers with his real answer.
-A real diplomat. When asked who's his favorite person, he generally answers with whomever is asking the question
-Totally hilarious & so much personality!. Love this boy.

kids grow up too fast! seems like you just had the little guy last month. cute kids and cute parents!
Such beautiful boys. Seriously they are. Beckham changes with each picture. He's darling. And Grayson, he is handsome. I just marvel at what a smart boy he is. Do you think I could send my kids to you for training? I really would love to see you soon. I miss you.
I love your boys, does that sound weird? They are both so cute. I was looking at pictures of Grayson and then pictures of Greg and it is funny how much they now look like big boys, know what I mean? Beckham is so adorable, mom and I were adoring his pictures. Love you!
Love your boys and all the cute things they do! Love you! Jen
Good job on keeping records of what your boys are up to. They are little cuties and it will be fun for you to watch them become good buddies as they are growing up. We need to get our kids together sometime. When are you going to be in town next?
