Tuesday

Tuesday was a seriously crazy day.  I told Zac when we finally crawled into bed that night, "all in a day in our crazy life, huh?!"  It was a good crazy for the most part.  Here goes:

I dropped the boys off at my Grandma Linda's house at 8:45 while I went to the dentist to have a temporary crown put on my root canal tooth.  That took about an hour and was just as pleasant as you'd expect and then I grabbed a couple quick things I needed at the store and headed back to get my boys.  They had a great time with Grandma Linda and Grayson kept telling her he'd come back and play sometime again which I know made her feel great.  I hadn't ever utilized her as a resource before and I think she enjoyed it as much as they did, so I need to make an effort to get the boys over there more often.  Thanks Grandma!
We hurried back to Nyssa for StoryTime.  I've known about it for a while but just never made the effort to get in there because of other obligations but decided it was time to make it a priority.  The boys had a great time.  Grayson was pretty shy and stayed by me, but warmed up toward the end.  The woman in charge does a great job!  She read the "Knuffle Bunny" books and had an activity about washing machines and then after the stories were read, they colored a picture & cut out & pasted a bunny and got bunny ears (candy corn) to eat for a treat.  It was fun for the kids and for me.  Beckham just gets so excited around that many kids and kicks his legs and laughs and jabbers.  Gray is more reserved (definitely a one on one type kid) but is polite and enjoys watching the kids and talking with one or two at a time.

After that we headed over to our friend Jessica's house for an hour so she and I could chat.  Grayson played with Nathan and Natalie and Beckham chilled with us.  It was a good time talking to her and the boys were ready for a nap when we left.

Got home and I was doing the lunch/prepping for nap routine and getting dinner ready to take to my primary secretary because she had her baby last week.  In changing Beckham's diaper, I looked at his left ear (always the culprit) and noticed it was totally bloody.  Kinda nervous, I cleaned it out with a wipe as best I could without going deep-hoping it was a scab-but alas, it was coming from his ear.  And, there was a big wad of puss/wax in there.  AUGHH!  Poor baby.  Seriously had to have burst in the morning and he was just happy as can be.  So, Zac was headed to a meeting in Boise but had a little time and said he'd go with us.  So we all piled back into the car, dropped dinner off at Erin & Bill's house, and got to Dr. Page's.  We visited with Julie who was there with Bug and when Travis looked at him he confirmed our fears, wrote a prescription, and we headed toward Boise...
Both boys napped the whole way and Zac and I caught our breath and talked for the whole drive.  I dropped him off at the corporate office for his meeting and went and got myself a diet Dr. pepper. (:  Then I drove to the hospital in Meridian where Chelsey was in labor.  Took the boys upstairs and we hung out in the room with her & Chris and Mom & Dad Cleaver while she just chilled and waited.  Zac came and left with Dad C. to get dinner for everyone and when he came back it was almost time for Chels to start pushing.  She wanted me to stay with her-awesome!-so Zac took the boys to the waiting room with Dad and later Layne and the kids came too so they were all kept busy.  Chelsey was an absolute champion.  Seriously, the girl amazed me.  She pushed for two full hours before they finally said they'd use the vaccum and get her out.  She was super tired at this point (9:30 PM) and didn't care.  I was one of her leg holders and I have to admit it was a workout for me to hold her leg for two hours and coach her-so much energy!  It was awesome to be there though and I was grateful she'd allowed me that experience to witness such a miracle.
Lyla Elena was born at 9:43 PM and weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 20 inches long.  She is adorable and sweet and Chelsey & Chris will be great parents.  I totally got teary seeing her struggling and just remembering the feeling you get when they lay that baby on your chest for the first time...and it makes everything worth it.  With all that said, my admiration for Chels shot through the roof because she did not give up and she didn't complain.  She just kept at it and was such a positive patient.  Pretty crazy to see someone I've known since I was a 5 year old go through something that awesome.  I told her it's the closest she'll ever be to Heavenly Father and it was just a neat experience.  I got some pictures and then we headed out to check on the boys.  So grateful for the great Daddy Zac is and that he would just watch the boys and take care of everything so I could be a part of the birth.  He's a good one.  We waited about 15 minutes so he could run back and see them and then we headed home.  The boys slept and went right into their beds for the night when we got home and we were happily exhausted and fell into bed cuddled together.  A perfect ending to a very busy day!

Great job documenting yesterday, especially for Chelsey and Chris. I have to admit I got a little teary-eyed reading about the whole delivery and everything. It reminded me of when I was able to be with you to witness both of your boys enter the world. I'm glad you got to be part of it with them.

Congrats to Chelsey and Chris, sounds like she did amazing. Love the name that they picked, she looks adorable.
Your little guy has a high pain tolerance! I hope that he gets better, but it sounds like he is pretty laid back about it all.
Glad that you were able to go to story time with Grayson, sounds like it is a fun time.
Miss you guys!
