80 years! {October 23rd}

We woke up Saturday right back in the swing of things.  I had a primary program practice activity day for the kids that went well (kids eating pizza in their Sunday clothes & not getting dirty is a pretty amazing sight!) and then ran errands in the afternoon.

My Mom & Aunt Alison and Dad & Uncle Bob threw my grandparents a combined 80th birthday party on Saturday the 23rd.  Both their birthday's are in October, so it worked out perfectly.  I can't believe they are 80 and hate the aging process...although I know it's necessary, I want my grandparents to just stay frozen in time right now so that my kids will know them like I do.  They are such an amazing couple and I have so much admiration, love, and adoration for them.  It was a lovely night & my mom worked especially hard to make things look nice.  She and Alison compiled tons of pictures from G&G's childhood, their having children years, and up to now.  Mom had them all framed & displayed super nicely and it was amazing to see the likeness in those pictures to us and our kids.  It's amazing how resemblances can be so strong and especially how they can skip generations and my kids can resemble my grandparents more than me...Crazy, huh?  Anyway, it was a nice party with a great turnout of people who love this sweet couple & we enjoyed visiting with some family & friends and then headed home to watch Iron Man 2 with all my sibs & their significant others (except Doll who was at a dance & much missed).  (:
{don't know where my children were, but sure wish they'd been with me...along with Taylor & Talon & Doll}
One highlight of the party was when Rylee got into some markers somewhere in the church with another accomplice-a boy from our ward-and came downstairs.  The look Elizabeth had when she first saw her is so priceless...and her new hair is absolutely adorable, so I had to post it!  Kids keep us hopping, don't they?!

That's hilarious about the markers and so sweet about your grandparents. I always admire how great your family is to celebrate the big events in lives.
