I saw several months ago that Ingrid Michaelson was coming to Boise again in October and thought I'd try and redeem myself with Doll and get us tickets again. Amber & Megan wanted to go as well, so we bought the tickets and made the plans. I was excited & so were the girls. A couple days beforehand, Amber found out she wasn't going to be able to make it for various reasons, so we had an extra ticket. Since it was such short notice, I was worried no one would be able to make it...but I called another friend, Brette, who is a major "Ingrid-fan" and she was psyched & could go! Megan's friend Meredith also went with us. We started out the night (Friday October 29th) by leaving my boys with their hot daddy & heading to TGIFriday's for dinner. It was totally delicious and fun to chat & laugh with the girls. After that we headed to the concert which was at a fun concert house in downtown Boise (which I absolutely love). She had an opening band-two guys named the Guggenheim Grotto-and they were entertaining as well. Ingrid did not let us down. She is just as great live as on her cds which separates a real artist from an overproduced one in my opinion. She is super cute, funny, and charismatic, and pretty much has a cult following at this point, but is becoming more popular and well known all the time. Love her songs. Love her voice. Loved the show. It was Doll's first concert and so fun to see her enjoying herself. We were down on the floor and had a great view so it was a ton of fun! Afterward we talked, laughed, and sang to Ingrid on the way home and stopped for soda/ice cream too. Got home about 12:30 AM and just glad that this year it worked out & I wasn't puking the whole night! (:
