December Daily {23rd}: Gingerbread men

Today was Beckham's 9 month appointment {we totally spaced his 6 month one} and Grayson got to stay at Grami's for a date with her while we went over there.  The appointment went so well.  Beckham LOVED nurse Rebecca {who doesn't?} and didn't even flinch when she pricked his finger for the iron test.  His stats were:

19 lbs. 11 oz.
27.5 inches
Big head {can't remember what, but 75th percentile}

I talked to Dr. Matt for a long time and he is always so helpful.  He is very complimentary & sweet and makes me feel like I'm doing the best I can as a mom.  I actually spent more time asking him questions about Grayson.  A friend of my mom's had asked her if Gray's nebulizer was making him irritable & my mom said he had acted a bit different since starting the treatments, so I asked him about that.  He said it could definitely be attributing to that.  It's called Steroid Psychosis which turns into mood liability and can make kids irritable.  Woulda been nice to know that earlier, right?  Anyway, the maintenance medicine he's on is the best out there & because it is definitely helping his asthma, we'd like to keep using it, but he suggested moving him to just one dose a day instead of two & keeping an eye on him.  At the same time, it's hard to differentiate between what is "irritable" behavior & what is normal 3-year old behavior. (:  We talked some more about both boys & then he left {he hates being around when they cry because he feels so bad} and Rebecca came in to give him his shots.  He had to get three and he just bawled when she gave them.  Then he cried each time she'd look at him or talk to him.  Funny!  He calmed down once he was in the carseat and fell asleep quickly.  I got some things done at Walmart & headed back to Mom's house.
When I got there I saw Grayson's awesome gingerbread men.  They looked great & he enjoyed the experience a lot.  Mom got him on camera talking about how much he doesn't want Santa to visit our home, but rather wants presents from mom & dad/grandpa & grandma.  He's a funny kid!  He is also quite smitten with Mom's Little People Nativity set and she said he played with it for about 30 minutes straight.  He's pretty creative seeing as how Mary was on top of the trees, the sheep were with baby Jesus (all looking at the star in the background), and everyone else were put where he thought appropriate.  Who knows, maybe it went something like that? (:  Mom had made up the cutest little chex mix goo giveaways for the people who work in the photo center of our local Costco because we ADORE them and they always go above and beyond for us, so we loaded up the kids & headed over.  It was complete insanity over there-super crazy & jam packed with people, so we parked far away, walked in & delivered the treats to one of our favorite guys, Steve, and then headed out.  Pretty sure that's the first time I've been into Costco and come out empty-handed!  We turned right around & went back home which made it a quick trip, but it was nice to talk with Mom for a while.  I sure enjoy that time.  We delivered her gift to Hartley's & then got back to the house & hung out there for a while till it was close to time for Zac to get home.  Got home and made dinner & enjoyed the night together.  After the boys went to bed, our friend Tom came over for some help on gifts for his wife Becca, and we ended up talking for a long time which is usually the case when we get together with either of them.  Went to bed soon after that.
