Spaceman & Carnivals

When my flight got into Boise on September 9th, I ran some errands over that way, including a stop to Costco on the way home for diapers/wipes.  My mom and Taylor had been raving about this astronaut costume that Grayson would love {because he's fascinated with space and pretends to be an astronaut all the time}.  I saw it and had to grab it.  Whether or not he is an astronaut for Halloween, I know this costume will get lots of use.  Hopefully Beckham loves to dress up too-it's fun!
I got home and got some work done and then picked the boys up at Taylor's.  They were having a great time but both gave me big hugs.  I missed them.  Got home and showed Grayson the costume.  He was in Heaven!  He tried it on and did serious and happy poses for me.  He said astronauts faces are like this: {serious pose}.  He also informed me the costume should have come with a "globe helmet."  I couldn't figure it out until he explained that they can't breathe outside their helmets in space & have a piece of glass so they can see and talk.  I told him he should make realistic costumes when he grows up.
He hasn't really taken it off too often since he got it.  We took dinner over to the Fischer Fam the night he got it and he wore it in the car on the way over.  It is a hot little costume and he was getting sleepy.  He said, "I'm just so hot!"  Uh, yea.  He loved showing Ella and Todd and is quite the little man.  Beckham just chases after him everywhere and doesn't want to be dressed up at all.  Funny funny kids.

Saturday the 10th I got to go with Amber to a carnival themed reception she was shooting.  It was awesome!  The conversation with my bestie is always the highlight, but the reception was amazing!  The bride's mom had made her cute dress, the bride & a friend had designed her bouquet-made out of brooches!-and the food was out of control!  Cotton candy, cracker jacks, soda, all sorts of carnival type treats.  Super super cute.  My favorite thing was her sign in poster.  The guests put their thumbprint in the heart shape & then signed their name.  Adorable.  The details were amazing.  Such a fun night with Amber and I always love watching her work her amazing talent.  Thanks to Zac for getting the boys in bed so I could go!
Sunday was a great day of remembering the men & women who sacrificed their lives on September 11th and for thinking of how blessed we are to live where & when we do.  So many amazing people around us and I'm especially grateful to have been spiritually fed on that day, 10 years ago by our Prophet President Hinckley at BYU-I, and again on this day at church.  After church, lunch, and naps, Zac had to go check on some stuff at one of the stores so the boys and I went to Taylor & Talon's.  Talon cut Grayson's hair for him and this was the first time that it wasn't too big a deal.  He still acted a bit nervous before and during, but I think we're mostly past the awful hair cutting experience stage.  Phew, that was a long one. (:  When his hair gets long {which seems to happen overnight}, I tease him that his head is going to lift his body off the ground!  He laughs and laughs.  He looks so grown up and handsome with it short-I love it.  Thanks Uncle Talon!  We chilled and danced around-showing off our awesome skills-afterward and T&T were cleaning out their stuff.  Grayson kept taking "treasures" {pictures of them as little kids, drawings they'd done, etc.} and I strategically "forgot" them.  (:  Got the boys in bed and waited for Z to come home and cuddle to a documentary.

I love short haired boys too. What a fun fun reception you went to. I love to see the creativity people have.

Ohhh and how could I forget....LOVE the spaceman! Dress up is a big deal here at our house too. Of all the costumes I have though he's sticking true to wanting to be a ghost for Halloween.
