The morning we left {Thursday} Taylor came over & the boys woke up to give us hugs goodbye. They opened their Thursday gift and were excited to be having sleepovers with Taylor & Talon for a few nights. {On a sidenote, the previous night Grayson had asked me to hand him a picture of Jesus in his bed. I asked him why and he said, "I'm telling my animals about Him. I already told them about our prophet and the temple." He had those pictures in his bed as well. Pretty cute. He'd brought them out with him this morning, too.}
Zac HATES flying, so he never eats before hand and is nervous til we land, but I don't mind it, so I help him out. (: He's working on changing the concepts inside him that say he hates it and telling himself he loves it in hopes of changing his thoughts. We made it to Vegas and had a layover where we met up with some fellow coaches & friends from California, Washington, and Wyoming. Very fun to all catch up and head out to Tucson together. We had safe flights & things went well. On our flight from Vegas to Tucson we met an incredible guy who we chatted with the whole time. It was a total God send because he sparked some incredible business ideas for both our businesses.
We got to the posh JW Marriott resort and found our room. We relaxed for a bit and walked around to check out the place. It was so nice! Arizona is beautiful. It was perfect weather, too.
We were pretty hungry, so we searched for food. They had a lean & green cafe set up and we followed a couple in there. We ended up striking up conversation, sat together to eat lunch, and visiting with them for two hours. Instant friends. Courtney & Sean Alcott. They were awesome & we totally hit it off. We got ready & went to the opening ceremony that night and sat with Tony & Brenda and lots of other friends. It was fabulous! Because it's a qualification event the training was intensive and less surface oriented, which I loved. There were 1000 coaches there and it was so fun!
We spent the evening inspired to be better & sat for 2 hours outside by the fire while we talked about how we plan to be better. We ordered club sandwiches & waters {that was ONE order of club sandwich!} and ate a bit {took the leftovers to T&B} while we talked. Zac is so goal oriented and he's not happy if we're not constantly moving forward. I'm not always as on board because I like to stay in my comfort zone. He teaches me that we often have to be uncomfortable to make progress and I love that he challenges me. We have some lofty goals in every area of our lives over the next year and I know we can achieve them if we continue to work together, communicate effectively, and realize that our own actions have an effect on each other. Loved this night and the emotional intelligence that was born from it.
Friday was a great day full of awesome information & fun. Zac and I had a great morning getting ready together, then we headed down to listen to the keynote speaker, Robin Sharma. He was incredible! The three hour session flew by and it was so enjoyable. We learned a ton and I have pages & pages of notes. We also bought his books & have been devouring them. Met more amazing people, and loved the session. I had a migraine from the day before I just couldn't shake, so I found a chiropractor from our area on our team & asked if he would put my neck in. He had me lay on a bench & put my neck & back in. It was a huge relief and my headache was instantly better. It helped a ton and I so appreciated him doing that for me. We ate a delicious Lean & Green lunch, except I bit a hole in my tongue & it hurt the rest of the trip. For someone who loves food, this wasn't a fun experience. (: We had a great "School by the Pool," where we could go around and listen to different leaders in the company & ask questions. We listened to Kim Fiske and I know Heavenly Father guided me to listen to her because everything she said was meant for me. Lots of valuable stuff that got deep inside my heart and I'm still processing it all. Afterward we spent some time with Sean & Courtney again before meeting up with Tony and Brenda and our team for dinner.
Saturday morning we had a great opening session where they introduced tons of awesome tools to utilize in our business for coaches & clients, then we had 4 breakout sessions to further our training. Zac and I went to different trainings so we could share & swap notes later. The classes were such high quality, as usual, and we were exhausted from great info overload! (: We took a nap during the break & then got ready for the closing banquet. It was a great time hearing from a few people in the company who inspired us, eating a delicious high class dinner, hanging with the Alcott's and our team, and then I did karaoke with Tony, Bryan Drollinger & his sister. We sang Summer Nights from Grease and it was absolutely awful, but we ended strong, which is all that mattered. It was a blast. We visited with Sean & Courtney before going up to bed and then chatting a bit later with Tony & Brenda. Love them!
Sunday was a long travel day. We left for the airport, had two great flights home {with a 3.5 hour conversation during our layover in Vegas} and got home to our boys at 8 that night. They were so happy to see us & we got lots of hugs and kisses. They loved their star wars mini guys we brought them and went to bed really well. We missed them a lot and were so happy to see them. So thankful for the amazing job Taylor and Talon do with them while we are gone. It's such a blessing to be able to leave and not worry about your kids one bit. Thanks guys!
