Grayson is an incredible boy.  He has a quick & dry sense of humor which sometimes catches us so off guard & cracks us up.  He is cautious & careful, timid & shy in front of big crowds, but playful & loud when he feels comfortable.  He is smart, inquisitive, naturally wants to lead, independent, and does not love to try new things.  Because of this we have to force new things (riding the bus, picking a sport or new activity) & once he gains some confidence about it, he does great!  He likes his routine & does best with a schedule.  He loves school, but loves home more.  He likes sleeping at home in his own bed-and having mom & dad around.  He's super helpful with Fischer & is a generally good listener (especially good at school & church).  He's begun asking to say the family prayer almost every night & meal and I love it.  He has a strong sense of what is right & wrong and usually wants to do what is right.

 I feel like the first 4-5 years of his life I was way too hard on him.  I had this vision with the first child on how everything should be/go/look, and I regret so many things.  This last year has included many changes on both our parts to heal some of the bad behaviors I've adopted & created because of my attitude.  It will take time, but I'm grateful for second (and seventieth) chances, forgiveness from a child, and a bright shining future.

Other quirks & endearments about Grayson:
Getting awesome about trying new foods.  LOVES tuna from the can and most fish.  Veggies are still the biggest struggle.
He is a major germaphobe.  He HATES them.  He washes his hands more than any person I know and often has dry knuckles because of it.  If Beckham breathes his air, toots in his direction, or doesn't wash his hands, whatever Grayson is doing/eating/around is ruined.  It's crazy!  I'm grateful he wants to be and likes being clean, but sometimes this is a cause for frustration, especially in public restrooms, etc.
He does NOT like apologizing.  He won't apologize if he's not sincere.  We're working on this. (;
He is a creative personality & has a great imagination.

Grayson's primary love language is definitely quality time + acts of service.  He is not a touchy feely kid, although he likes late night talk time in bed & for me or Zac to lay with him & scratch his back.  He is more cuddly with Zac than anyone else. He is grateful when receiving gifts, but he'd much rather have our undivided attention talking, playing, or watching/interacting with him doing things he likes.  Action speaks much more loudly to him than words. We love you Grayson and it is a joy to have you in our home!
