December 31st {Saturday} Zac turned 34! He got to sleep in while I cuddled with my boys {morning cuddles are one of my all time favorite things} and then after a while I let Grayson climb on top of him. Unfortunately, Zac woke up not feeling great at all & both boys were still kinda yucky-especially Beckham. He was just not himself and only wanted to be held. By me. Usually he prefers Zac and will happily go to just about anyone, but not today. Poor baby. Secretly, I kind of enjoyed the preferential treatment! Since all my guys weren't feeling up to par, it was a pretty uneventful day. Zac had to run Connor home & a couple errands over that way, so I used that time to make his cakes, wrap his gifts, & get the house cleaned. The boys rested, watched movies, and during Beckham's nap, Grayson and I played a couple games of hi ho cherry-o. He won every time. (: T&T stopped by to drop eggos & chocolate milk off for Zac & stayed while he opened his gifts. He loved everything & enjoyed his day the best he could. Mom & Dad brought him {while running with their hands over their mouths so as not to get any germs} a card & his favorite candy {they'd already done the gravel}, and yelled happy birthday. Mom also gave us broccoli cheese soup for dinner, which we enjoyed with Zac's birthday cake & blowing out a candle. And, they spoiled me by giving me a gift too. It was a "sorry Amber's leaving" gift and had some fun gift cards for a day to spend on myself. Such a sweet & thoughtful gesture and totally made me feel loved. We got the boys to bed & asleep by 9 and cuddled together watching tv & Zac slept a bit. It's no fun to be sick on your birthday & New Year's Eve! We talked about our goals, enjoyed each other & being in our jammies, and really had a nice night together. We even rang in the new year by capturing the time on my screen saver & then hit the sack. Pretty low key, but I will be forever grateful this great man was born and that he chose me to spend forever with. He is an incredible husband, dad, brother, son and friend, and has the best heart of anyone I know. I love you Zac!
{My creative gift to him was 12 months of pre-planned {mostly} pre-paid dates. My cousin Mandy gave me the idea-thank you!-and he LOVED it. He's a big quality time guy and this will be so fun. I had a great time putting ideas together & getting stuff ready to stuff in the envelopes. I'll share the dates here as the year goes by.}

What a complete bummer he was sick. Was it too much pizza or the crud the boys had? I too am glad he was born beause he is one amazing example for us too.
What a great birthday!!! I love the 12months of pre-planned, pre-paid dates. I must steal that idea from you! Your so creative Karli!
