it's the little things

Monday night was the big Fiesta bowl where our beloved "home" team, BSU was playing. Zac sported his BSU shirt to work at the stores & said everyone was totally psyched all day for the game. We started out watching it at my folks & left a little into the third quarter. We got home and Gray wanted to "build a tassle (castle)" so the boys sat and built castles while they watched the game. Luckily BSU pulled out a great game & win and it was really exciting that they won. We were happy for the team & for the valley! Go Broncos!
Tuesday I was trying to get some stuff done and thought to find a fischer price game on the computer & let Grayson try his hand at playing computer. He did awesome! He would wait patiently, repeat the letter or number & words, move the mouse & wait for the purple circle to pop up and then press a button on the keyboard. He sat totally intrigued for about 25 minutes which allowed me to do what I needed to do and him to practice his letters/numbers. So fun! Now I'm debating whether he's ready for a play toy like that because I really don't want my computer/mouse/keyboard ruined at all! (:Wednesday for mutual, I found this activity online and thought it would be fun. I only had 2 of my four girls there and we went to Karena's for the activity. We made edible crayons by dipping pretzel rods into colored chocolate & then wrapped them with printed crayon labels. They turned out so cute & the girls put them in cute little take out boxes for their friends. So fun!
This morning Zac went in to get Grayson out of bed & after greeting him with his standard "good morning," said, "bear, udder bear, george, baby dolly, brown blanket, train blanket, binky." He made Zac pick him up along with all his other gear and then sat on my lap. I had to get a picture because most mornings this is how it goes. He loves all these things & his crib is full of his loot. Crazy kid! A little while later after getting him dressed, I was combing his hair in the bathroom and he looked in the mirror and totally serious said, "I so handsome!" I about dropped from laughing so hard. I tell him that often & I guess he's starting to believe it himself! This afternoon we ran errands with Amber & Ella. The kids were so good & patient with all the car time & getting in & out for stores. It was fun to chat & get some stuff done together. Ella was crying in the car at one point and Grayson kept worriedly saying, "Ella so sad." He LOVES her and feels so bad when she isn't happy.

We got home and got a few things done and then were getting ready to head up to G&G Cleaver's for a minute. Gray came out of the bathroom with his hands on his head and I realized he was holding a barrette & several bobby pins on his head...hmm...I wonder where he sees that?! Totally cracked me up. He also called Aunt Taylor on my cell phone & We came home tonight and played before going to bed & although he cried and about broke my heart by saying, "hold you mama....I a child of God!" over & over for about 20 minutes, he eventually gave in and went to sleep. I really like this kid.
