so darn sick

Saturday I had a great time helping Amber at her Valentine's photo booth. It went really well & she did a great job & took a plethora of photos. There were so many cute babies & people there and I know she got a ton of great pics. I got a quick preggo pic with Kim, who is due about a month after me. She looks adorable! My only regret was that I went alone and didn't get any pics with me and my boys. Maybe later this week. Zac watched Grayson all day for me and when I got home he said, "I totally know how hard you work all day!" (: They had a great time and I'm thankful they had some good bonding time together.

Sunday was a great day at church with some especially funny things coming out of Gray's mouth. Some highlights:
-during testimony meeting, my grandma Marge got up to bear her testimony and Grayson said, "Nana Marge!" at the top of his lungs when he saw her. A few minutes later I pulled a tootsie roll out of the diaper bag to give it to him and he said, "Uncle Bob! Uncle Bob give dis to you?!" Because Bob always gives him tootsie rolls, he didn't think I could have one without having been given it from him.
-After church when we were in the car heading home, we asked him to tell us about nursery. He told us some of the things they'd done and kids he'd played with and then Zac and I were talking and gray randomly said, "I wuv Sister Tammy." She is one of the nursery leaders in first hour & it was so cute. I validated what he'd said and he said, "She sure is cute!" Hahaha! We were totally cracking up & just love his sweet little heart!

We came home afterward for a quick lunch & then all took a nap. We were planning on going to Amber & Todd's for the superbowl, but decided to stick close to home and went to my folks. Gray had started coughing and I was feeling a little dizzy. We had fun at my folks & ate yummy food & I worked on a project. As the night went on I felt a little funny, but didn't think too much about it. Around midnight, I woke up with severe heartburn and thought I would throw up. I walked around for a while & drank some water till I felt a little better & went back to sleep. At 2 am, I woke up and threw up. From then on, I threw up about every half hour for the next 12 hours. Fever, aches, sore body, etc.

Monday I was sicker than I've been since I was first pregnant with Grayson and it was awful. I couldn't even keep liquids down. Zac worked from home so he could take care of me and Gray went to Nana's to play so he wouldn't want me all the time and maybe wouldn't catch my flu. I felt bad about that because it was my mom's birthday and I really didn't want her to have to babysit all day. She is always so generous and selfless and said she didn't have any plans, so I was just so grateful to have her near. I seriously didn't do anything the whole day except lay on the couch or my bed & travel to the bathroom when needed. Zac called the doctor & he kindly called in an anti-nausea prescription so I could maybe keep fluids down at least & that seemed to help on the throwing up front. Then the aches just got worse & worse. Zac picked up Grayson and took him in the garage while he lifted weights {side note: Gray does amazing pull ups!-Zac was totally impressed & I was a little jealous!} and got him ready for bed. We all vegged on the couch and did prayers, etc. & then Zac put Gray to bed and I went to bed too. I couldn't get comfortable at all & ended up spending the hours from 12-5 going from bed to couch trying to get in a position to sleep where I wasn't extremely sore. It was not a fun night.

Today I feel a little better. I went to my mom's this morning to take a bath in her jetted tub & that felt good but I was pretty dizzy when I got out & have still had some hot flashes. (: We came home and after I put Gray down for his nap, I also took a 2 hour nap which helped. We've been taking it pretty easy today, but at least I've been able to move & get a couple loads of laundry/dishes, etc. done. It is not fun to be sick when you have a kid...and when you're pregnant...and when you have a million other things you want & need to be doing. And, I got my flu shot...and this is the second flu I've had since October {view my good times post to revisit that episode!}, so I'm thinking flu shots are bogus because before that I hadn't gotten one in over ten years and subsequently hadn't gotten the flu either! (:

Anyway, that's what's happening around here. Hopefully I'll be even better after tonight's sleep and can continue with our week!

Yuck, I feel for you, Throwing up is the worst
PS
Flu shots are for the influenza not the stomach bug we like to call the flu.

Sorry I would have come to clean your toilets and take Grayson too. I hate being sick I'm so sorry! Read a good book though and then you won't feel as bad :)

Being sick is the worst, especially when you are already tired from being pregnant. Good to hear that you are feeling better though. You are such a great friend.
The photos from Amber's photo shoots look adorable. You both need to give me some lessons! I need help in all areas of my life.
