Eleven on the Eleventh

1. Thanks Amber for your make me laugh post! I was feeling awful and that totally cheered me up when I saw it. I distinctly remember injuring my leg & limping clumsily around McCall that specific trip...and almost wetting our pants from laughing so hard several times & mostly the fact that you were soaking wet! I'm surprised we needed the bathroom when we finally found one! And why is it that every establishment in McCall said no to two young girls in need of a potty break?! Seriously. (: Fun fun memories though. The best part? That we still laugh that hard every time we're together! And, speaking of Amber, she's a featured photographer at an awesome shabby chic boutique this weekend, so if you're in the valley, check it out. Here's the info:

2. Feeling lots better today. Weirdest thing though. Tuesday (8th) night I started feeling yucky, Wednesday (9th) it was full blown-high fever-chills/aches-stay in bed the ENTIRE day-spend lots of time running to bathroom-no eating-sweetest mom ever stayed with my boys all day-yucky kind of sick...Thursday (10th) was a little better but still tender tummy & staying close to home. Thankful it's over & I'm feeling much better.

3. Last Wednesday (2nd) we had a fun playdate with Stephanie & her three girls. Grayson was in heaven playing with the girls and their fun toys. Toward the end, the kids all went in the garage to play and ride bikes because it was so rainy outside. I went out and said, "Grayson, you have two more minutes till we have to leave." He said-totally diplomatically-"I want to play for just a wittle bit wonger okay mom?" I said, "two minutes friend." He said, "and a half." Such a bargainer! When I got him and took him to the car-2 minutes later-he was angry that we had to leave & it was raining...he said, "Don't rain! Don't you come at Stephanie's house!" Love that boy & his amazing vocab & personality.4. Thursday (3rd) was a big day for me. It was my one month marker. For what you may ask? I've been doing Take Shape for Life (the program Zac and I are coaches for-website in top right hand corner) and was excited about my one month results. The verdict: 15 pounds & 16 inches lost. Yay me! Now on to the next great month! And, if you're interested in learning more about the program (which really is for everyone-even if you don't have extra weight to lose & just want to learn more about health) & having me & Z be your coaches, come to a Q&A/Tasting night at our house Thursday the 17th between 6 & 8:00 pm.

5. Friday (4th) we headed out after Zac finished work to John Day, Oregon. Reason: to celebrate Morgan and her high school graduation! John Day also holds special memories because it's where Zac proposed to me 7 years ago. Love that town for that reason. The boys did awesome on the trip and we had a great time. The whole family was together and Em, Chels & their families stayed at Z's folks house there with us which was fun. We talked late Friday night and then Zac and I had an eventful night. We had taken up two air mattresses. My parents said they thought theirs had a slow leak but that it would probably last a night. The aero bed was smaller for Grayson. We all went to bed super tired about 1:00 am. Around 4:30 I woke up and realized that my butt was on the ground. My head was about touching my knees because the bed had leaked that much. I rolled off and Zac about flipped off. We tried re-airing the mattress and it was SUPER loud! I looked over at Grayson's bed and thought I'd lay with him and saw his mattress was also flat! Zac said he and the kids had been jumping on it and must have popped it. Arghh! So needless to say, we didn't get much sleep! (: Beckham was on the comfy overstuffed chair though and slept great all night!Saturday (5th) morning Em, Chels, Mo and I went on a great walk. It was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed chatting together before the craziness of the day started. Grayson LOVED having his cousins to himself and playing in a new place. He looked so cute and aside from: breaking his mattress, drawing a line with marker on Grandma's closet door (which he also had to clean up), being taken out & spanked at graduation, and a couple minor fits, he was such a great kid & a joy to be around. Beckham was loved on and pretty much spent the whole day being taken care of by Zac while I helped his mom and did other things. Morgan looked beautiful & her graduation ceremony was super nice. She sang "Keep Holding On" and totally nailed it! That girl can sing! Her after-party was very nice too and we ate yummy food and talked lots. That night most of the siblings headed out and we watched "Alice in Wonderland" with Chels & Chris. We slept in a bed that night which was much better...until Beckham woke up sick Sunday (6th) morning. Poor baby. This baby rarely cries so when 20 minutes went by with him crying at the top of his lungs, we knew something was hurting him. He didn't want to eat and just wouldn't calm down. Mom Cleaver and I just traded off rocking him, walking with him, and rubbing his back. Gave him a bath which he usually loves & even that didn't calm him. After a couple hours of off & on crying fits, he settled down and we made the drive home. He & Gray slept the whole way home and we had an uneventful evening at home recovering from our weekend.

6. Monday (7th) Gray and I took our first stroller walk of the year. He has wanted to go for a while now and I just haven't made time. We did that day though and it was beautiful and fun. He loves it and talks my ear off the entire time. Next summer he can ride along side me while I push Beckham-crazy! That night we had a dutch oven cook off again at my folks. Bex & Jaeger were wearing the same outfit so of course there was a photo op!7. We've been really into the NBA finals this year...which is totally unusual for us. We are not diehard fans of either team, but we especially dislike the Lakers {because they are so favored & they've won so many dang times!}, so we are rooting for the Celtics. Last night's fourth quarter was so exciting! Here's hoping for the underdogs!

8. Speaking of good shows, "So You Think You Can Dance" is back on and I'm loving it. They narrowed it down to the top ten (five boys/five girls) & I like them all. Right now I'm really liking Lauren, Kent, Ashley, Jose, and Robert. But they are all great. It's fun to have a couple summer shows to like...And dang I wish I could dance like that!

9. On the way to John Day there is this awesome tree called the "Shoe tree." People have hung tennis shoes on this tree since Zac can remember & I have always loved it when we've gone up there, but never taken the time to photograph it till this time-although there were less shoes this year than I've ever seen. Kind of a cool concept, right? Next time we'll have to take a pair of shoes to leave.10. Tuesday (8th) before I got sick, we had Treyce & Preslie over to play with Grayson. They had a great time eating popsicles and playing outside the whole time. They were so easy to have & Gray loves the company. Glad I wasn't close to any of them so they didn't get sick.

11. As far as family pictures go lately-this is about as good as it gets! Funny how Grayson is great to get pictures taken when it's his idea or when he's doing something he thinks is "picture worthy" but never when we want a good one of all of us together! 2 year olds! (: Oh well, it is where we are right now & I love it! I think that about catches us up to where we are now-thanks for the get well wishes & here's to a great weekend!

Beautiful family! You all look adorable. It sounds like you have been super busy as usual. I'm so sorry to hear though that you were sick. That's not fair when Mommy gets sick. HOpe you really are feeling better and life keeps plugging for you. Morgan looked beautiful at graduation. What an exciting time for her!

So we all had that same thing down here, and it was like wildfire every couple days someone would be sick all day or all night then feel better the next day, even the babies one 2 month old had to go to the doctor because she wouldn't eat, which is why I think Beck might have had it so don't be surprised if Zac and Gray get it, but here's to hoping it leaves your family be. Glad you're feeling better!!!! Way to go on the weight loss, I started a diet (modeled after the one you gave me before) and I've lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks and Daniel has lost 9 so we're excited we also are starting p90x so hopefully I'll finally get rid of some baby weight.

Congrats on your one month marker. You look amazing. Love to hear more about what you guys are doing with that.
I am glad to hear that you are feeling better and that the boys are doing well. Grayson cracks me up because Greg tries to bargain for time too!
I am thinking that maybe a day trip to see you and the boys is in order, what do you think? Love you.
