Saturday (2nd) was crazy busy & super fun & memorable for the whole crew. First off, I left Beckham & Grayson with Aunt Morgan who was home from Rexburg visiting for the weekend (She totally loves it by the way!) and she was so psyched to see the boys. Mom Cleaver and I headed over to Ontario to do a TSFL booth at the Octoberfaire they hold downtown each year. There are tons of vendors and people just walk the streets and visit. We held a giveway for an ipod shuffle/free box of food, and talked to a lot of great people. We were totally unprepared when we got there and realized a table & chairs were not provided with the cost of the booth and thankfully my good friend Kelli came to the rescue! She brought us the stuff we needed-thanks again Ke
While we were gone, Zac worked on the farm for a while and then picked Grayson up for the Home Depot workshop. This time they made an awesome fireboat and he loved it again. (Not sure why his certificate is in Spanish by the way...) They got a grape snowy & then had lunch at Fiesta and visited us at our booth. Grayson is totally loving this monthly day out with dad & knows that that day is special time. I'm so grateful for this new tradition they've started and love watching their friendship grow.
We packed up our booth around 4 & headed back home. Zac had picked up Beckham and had both boys home and bathed for the evening in.
Aunt Doll came over to babysit so we could go with Todd & Amber to celebrate Todd's birthday. Amber had given him clues about what we were doing and it was a super fun night. First stop was to eat in Notus. Yes, I said Notus, Idaho. "What's there?" You might ask.... I'll tell you! The Garage Cafe! It is awesome. Both guys had been mentioning wanting to try it to us girls for a while now and we thought it would be a great time to do just that. We were not disappointed. Totally great ambience & delicious homemade food. The joint is owned by a cute couple and they have their five sons (aged 10-14) help them out and they are adorable. Totally great place-try it out if you're close or just passing through!
After dinner we headed to Nampa. The guys dropped Amber and I off at Target while they went to the Haunted World. All our married lives, the boys have wanted to do this & we are too scared to go and won't do it with them. Finally, we thought of having them go together & we could play at our favorite place to shop while they did it...Perfect solution, eh?! (: We had quite a fun time perusing Target, drooling over all the cuteness, trying on Halloweeen costumes and sending pics to the guys, and laughing so hard we needed to find a bathroom....then getting kicked out at 10 because they were closing.
We were kinda scared since we didn't have a vehicle, but we walked over to Olive Garden because we knew we had at least another hour to sit in there. The guys came to get us close to 11 & they were giddy with happiness and laughter. It was hilarious to hear them talking about how much fun they'd had and how scary it was and how we HAD to go with them next time. Amber was especially glad for her pregnant excuse and Zac told me I was going with him next week-no questions. Scary! We rode home after that and laughed & talked and totally enjoyed the company of really great friends. I think this will definitely become a "Todd's birthday tradition" celebration for years to come. Thanks Doll for taking such great care of our boys while we were gone too!
