December Daily {19th}: Winter Storm & Family/Friend time

Today was a great Sabbath.  We enjoyed church immensely.  Our friends Ali & Francisco spoke and it was incredibly powerful.  Primary went well although the kids in junior primary were totally hyper.  The older kids are just so spiritual & so much smarter than me and I cried at the end when I bore my testimony {I blamed it on the fact that my mom was in the room-subbing for Kelsey's class}, but really I just adore the kids & hope I can convey to them my testimony of Jesus Christ and the fact that if they truly turn to Him, they may not always have it easy, but they will be filled with the JOY that only HE can offer.

We headed to Zac's folks after church and had a great lunch with them.  We just chilled there for a few hours visiting and laughing with everyone.  It was snowing super hard the whole time were were there {about 3.5 hours} and by the time we left there were 4 inches on our car!  Totally weird to have this much snow because I seriously can't remember a December like this in my lifetime, but we are grateful for the moisture & enjoying the beauty-especially with kids.

We got home around 6 & Matt & Jen braved the roads to drive the hour to our house for dinner.  They got here around 7 & we had delicious crockpot chicken & rice.  {Just a little insert here about how much I love my crockpot: I think they are seriously one of the best inventions of all time.  You can make such a variety of meals in them, come home to a great smelling house, little work, little hassle, use the liners & no mess to clean up afterward, tons of yummy leftovers, delicious homecooked meals!...And, it's red.  I'm in love.}
Anyway, back to the evening.  After dinner we just chatted with M&J for a long time.  The boys went to bed and we kept visiting & laughing...till about 2:30 am.  They were debating whether they should just stay the night, but finally decided to get home since they had an early day.  We loved having them & were glad they were willing to brave the roads to get here.  Such great friends.  {Disclaimer: the picture was taken right before they left, so we are looking a little tired & loopy!}
