December Daily {8th}: Ward Christmas Party

Today started out pretty crazy.  Both boys & I were crying by the end of it, but we got out the door & on our way eventually! (:  I just lost track of time & had to be out the door at a certain time & was totally stressing & running around like a crazy chicken, so Zac was getting Bex ready and noticed his ear was bleeding out again-didn't we just have surgery for that?-so that was stressing me out & required a call to his ENT doc, who said to start the drops in his ear for five days...  Gray was complaining of his eye hurting, but ended up doing great letting me put his ointment in & even opened it pretty wide for me (it's nasty to look at inside!).  Zac then offered to drop Bex at my mom's for me which helped a ton. Gray and I got going and headed to his post op appointment in Boise with Dr. Lee.  At first he kept telling me that she wasn't the best doctor anymore, but when we pulled up to her office, he told me that, "Actually Dr. Lee is the best doctor, Mom."  Alright then.  They got us right in-one of the things I love most about her-and he was awesome.  He told both the receptionist & the assistant the same things, "My eye is doing good for now.  I don't need another surgery."  He is a boy who knows what he wants & isn't afraid to tell it!  Dr. Lee looked at him and noticed a piece of something {eyeball?} that was kind of coming out in the corner and told me she'd have to push it back in with a wand/stick/qtippy type thing.  I thought for sure this would be his breaking point, but he just kinda nervous giggled & I kept asking if it tickled while she did it.  Such a brave boy!  When we were done he just shook her hand & told her thanks and headed out like he owned the place.  He makes me laugh so hard!

We decided to stop at Target and got a few things done there.  He is really a pretty good little buddy in the car & we always have some stimulating and laugh inducing conversations.  He has a thing about Lady Gaga's song, "Bad Romance" which is re-done on one of my Glee cds, so he's always asking to listen to it.  We jammed out to it a few times today and then listened to their Christmas album which is fun too.  He's super fun to shop with too {unless he's overtired} and we had a great time in both our favorite store.  Got home & Tom was visiting with Zac about electronics so it was nice to see him.  Zac ended up following Tom home to help him set up his new Xbox which Zac was pretty excited about.  Another friend to play with! (:  The boys and I stayed home to get ready for the Christmas party at the church.  Honestly none of us were really in the mood to go with the ear/eye/tired stuff going on, but we decided we needed to go.

 It ended up being a good time, of course.  Jaeger looked adorable dressed as Mr. Claus himself & the boys & I stood in line to see Santa.  Beckham didn't really care one way or another, but Grayson wouldn't go near him, interestingly enough.  I didn't push the issue since he'd already seen & loved the other Santa and he had just had a tramautic experience. (:  We sat down and enjoyed the dinner/program/company & visiting with friends.  We helped clean up a little and then decided to visit Zac's folks for a minute because Dad C. hadn't seen Gray yet.  On our way there we asked Grayson why he didn't want to sit with Santa.  He said emphatically, "That Santa was SCARY!"  Both of us started laughing out loud-he is hilarious!  And, I agree that the mall Santa was much more professional & less "scary!"  He loved showing Grandpa his eye & building a fort & we just visited for a bit.   Beckham is basically crawling-for all intensive purposes-and does the plank exercise move quite often which makes us laugh.  Headed home and worked on projects when the boys went to bed.
