open house anxiety

Grayson had his preschool open house on September 3rd.  He was super stoked about it and Zac had tons of anxiety for him about it.  They are SO much alike and I love it.  I was calm and excited and know Grayson will do well and love Preschool.  We wanted the attention and focus to be on him since it was a big deal for him, so Doll watched Beckham for us while we took him.  Grayson looked adorable and was quiet, but excited the whole way there.  We got to Miss Krissy's and went in.  He had been saying earlier that he wanted us to "just leave when we get there," so he could stay by himself and I explained that it was just an open house, not a school day just yet.  When we walked in though, he held my hand tight for a couple minutes and wasn't too sure about it.  There were several kids and parents which always gets him a bit nervous, but Miss Krissy worked her magic and showed him around a bit {I ADORE this woman!} and he was impressed with the cubbies, the toys, the kitchen area, and the books.

Then he saw the bean table & he was smitten.  He spent the remaining time at the bean table, playing with Zac, Amity, and myself, but not daring to leave the beans.  Hopefully he'll listen when it's time in the real class and not just stay there the entire time!  Krissy took her time talking to him, asking him questions, and laughing at his cheekiness.  We headed out after a while and he said that he was excited to go back.  We picked up Bex and took them on a date to get star chicken nuggets {Carl's Junior} & ran errands at Home Depot.  When we got home he insisted on practicing his coloring for Miss Krissy. I totally love that kid and cannot believe we are at this "school" stage at all yet.  Part of me is excited and part of me dreads that he is growing up and going out in the scary world.  I hope we can teach him what he needs to be fully equipped in every way.  We are so proud of you Grayson!

How fun for Grayson. Honestly though I am SUPER impressed by his coloring. Jhett scribbles one color over the entire page and still makes us oohhh and aahhh over it. Way to go Gray!

I'm glad that Gray had a great day with Miss Krissy. She really is amazing at working her "magic" on each and every child. And I think it's so cute how much G reminds me of Z, too. If Grayson turns out anything like his daddy, he'll be one of the nicest guys around.
