Today was a great day! I think every Holiday is better with kids. By a thousand times!
The little boys and I slept in till 9 this morning which made everything even better! Gray woke up saying, "happy Halloween!" He was so excited. Beckham just babbled in his own language and clapped whenever anyone said happy Halloween. They are so fun. They had "spooky" dino oatmeal for breakfast, and we got some stuff done around the house. On a last minute whim, I found this idea I'd saved on Pinterest and Grayson and I whipped up these adorable mummies for his preschool friends. Half a roll of toilet paper, 12 hershey bars, 24 googly eyes, & some glue dots later, they were easy, and so cute! He loved helping me with it and was so excited to take them to "Max, Amity, and those other friends who I don't know their names."
Ran him to preschool dressed in his astronaut costume and he was Mr. Serious when he showed Miss Krissy. She laughs at his somberness and I think his little stoic attitude is such a crack up, too. I ran Beckham home and got him down for a nap and then worked on business stuff for an hour before getting ready myself. Taylor came over and went with me to see Gray's little Halloween program during the last 15 minutes of preschool. Krissy does such a great job with all those kids. Grayson was hilarious. He wouldn't sing with the other kids but made funny faces and then would sing randomly with them sometimes. I know he knows the songs, he just doesn't like the big crowd thing at all. She introduced them each like they were the most amazing person ever and I know each kid feels so special to her. So sweet. Grabbed a photo of him with his favorite adult & two of his favorite friends, and he had LOTS of treats to bring home, a painted wooden pumpkin he'd made for us, lots of other crafts, and he talked and talked about how great preschool & Halloween are. I really love that kid.
We got home and he and Beckham played for a little while. Amber & Girls and Megan came around 5 and took a quick family picture before heading to the church for the trunk or treat. This time we went with a fireman & a firedog and two Nudists on strike {thanks for the idea Mike Nielson from Candace's blog}.
It was successful, but FREEZING! We asked Beckham if he wanted to walk around and he shook his head no, so he sat in the back of my mom's car with Doll & Megan eating kit kats. (: It was fun having the Fischer's with us. Sure love them. It's impossible to get a picture of my boys together-Beckham will simply not sit or stand still-so I just didn't fight it. It was a great day with lots of candy to show for it. (: After the parade of kids was over, we drove over to my folks, Great G&G Pete's, G&G Cleaver's, and then home. We wanted to make a couple more stops, but the boys had had it. At Cleaver's they both laid on the floor & almost passed out. Hilarious. Glad we stopped because we got to see Lyla, the most adorable lion cub baby. We got home, dressed in jammies, ate some dinner, and they went to bed. It was a very successful Holiday in my opinion.
And guess what? I didn't eat one piece of candy or sweet and stayed on plan the entire day. Want to know what I had to show for it tonight? A splitting headache. Doesn't seem fair, does it?

Such cute pictures! I sounds (and looks) like you guys had a wonderful Halloween. I'm so proud of you for not eating any candy. Your willpower amazes me. Sorry that you got a headache, though. That just doesn't seem fair!
The the nudist on strike costumes. SERIOUSLY HILARIOUS!! Just might have to steal that for next year:) You have such a beautiful family Karli.
