Friday {30th} morning we all drove over to Dan Wiebold Ford to trade in my baby, {my Acura MDX} for a new rig. A pickup. A Ford F150. With Zac opening a new store this year & having to travel & transport, we knew we'd need a pickup and we'd already played around with carseats, cargo, etc., to make sure the arrangement would work out as a family vehicle. I have never really been attached to cars & don't care that much what I drive as long as it's reliable & safe, but I was SUPER-read: uncharacteristically-attached to my Acura. So, it was a sad farewell. I told Zac when this lease is up {works best for our businesses to lease}, I wanted to go back to the Acura. He thinks I'll be converted, but we'll see. The truck is nice & beautiful-with more than I need, it's just BIGger & much different than I'm used to. The boys always love going to dealerships {they are their father's boys} and I HATE it. However, this was an incredibly short trip & they sent us on our way. We grabbed a couple groceries at Walmart & were home within 3 hours of leaving. We grabbed Connor on our way back since he was staying the night with us.
When we got home, the boys enjoyed a few minutes of play/tickle time with Connor & loved watching the surprise that showed up for Daddy's birthday-a truckload of gravel from Mom & Dad Peterson! He wanted more gravel in the driveway & they delivered!
For Zac's birthday celebration all he wanted was an xbox party with his friends. Since Todd was going to be moving soon & we didn't know when they'd be able to play in person again, he really wanted to do it while he was still here, so we planned for the 30th which was perfect because it was a Friday night & would give him Saturday {his official birthday} to recover from the late night. Zac took Connor to help set up & I didn't see him again! (: He spent the evening playing Xbox with his buddies. They had the party
at Talon's house & set his whole basement up with the works.
They asked everyone to bring $5 to help pay for
pizza/food/sustenance/soda, and had many TV's, Xbox consoles, &
games. He had a great time with great people and got home around 3 AM. He loved getting a "last night" with Todd, too.
Amber & I planned to have a sleepover here with the kiddos. Of course all four of our children ended up getting super sick, {hers just starting & mine kind of ending} so plans were changed. My mom watched mine & her mom watched hers & we headed to dinner at Matsy's. We thought it was our last night together, so we reminisced, laughed, and made plans for stuff we could do when she moved to stay connected. It was a great night with my bestie and I am so thankful for her. We didn't stay gone long because our kiddos needed us and we said a quick goodbye afterward. I grabbed my boys & got them to bed-medicine in their systems-and spent the evening watching episodes of Community and working on Zac's birthday gift which I was totally excited about.
