The boys were sad to see the tree & decorations go, but they were good helpers all day & loved playing with their toys. Grayson called Grandpa Alan first thing & said, "You need to come over right away to help me get my Storm Trooper ship going." He was pretty convincing and Grandpa came over a bit later. Between the three of them they had it set up & working quickly and he loved playing with it.
Around 5:30 we went to dinner at Fiesta with T&T. The boys were great & it was good food & good company. On our way home, we stopped at Huls' where Amber, Todd & girls were staying the week. The movers were coming the next day & I wanted to deliver their going away gift so they could send it with the movers rather than pack it on the plane. My mom made them a beautiful quilt {that I'll have to have Amber send me a picture of} and they LOVED it. It was so fun to give it to her and I know it will be well used & loved in the cold Minnesota land she's moving to. They gave us a fun Christmas gift-including a best friend's bracelet I haven't taken off since that night. (: Sure love that little family!
From there we went straight to Mom & Dad's again to watch L&K open their gifts & exchange sibling gifts for them. I forgot to blog about that in the other post, but Taylor had my name & got me the cutest camera strap & a gift card to Cafe Rio {my fave & they now have one in Boise!}. Lance had Zac & got him a holster for his gun-totally perfect. Zac had Lance & got him a nice pair of wireless headphones for his gaming so he can actually talk to Zac & Talon when they all play together online at their houses instead of having to text every time he wants to say something. (: I had Kelsey & got her the set of Harry Potter books. Can't wait to have some time where I can borrow them & read them again. They were surprised about the shark & baking stuff too, & then Dad made them share their feelings about the McCall experience, which was sweet to hear. Then they got their surprises. Kels got the full Willowtree Nativity {in a HUGE box} and Lance got big decal things for his hunting trailer. Jaeger got a train table & the boys all walked on it & were so excited. We missed them on the actual day, so it was fun to be there when they opened their gifts.
Tuesday {27th} I had a headache all day & loved using the head massagers both Zac & my mom had stuck in my stockings! Taylor watched the boys while I got as much done as I could catching up with clients after the Holiday. We cuddled a lot that evening {don't mind my homely look} & read the tickle monster book, complete with Daddy being the tickle monster {totally recommend this one!}. Beckham was up most that night with a fever, so he & I spent the evening restlessly on the couch. Poor baby!
Wednesay {28th} both boys had fevers all day, but I thought it was a passing cold. No other major symptoms. We had lots of cuddling, Gray didn't have preschool {winter break}, and watched movies. We were all pretty chill the majority of the day. We did stop over at G&G Pete's for a minute to see Grandpa fly his cool helicopter thing & Gray ran away from it, Jaeger was brave & chased it, and Beckham was terrified of it, especially after it hit him in the head! That night Taylor & Talon came to watch the Warrior with us. Such a great show! After they left, we heard the first barking cough from Beckham and knew it'd be a long night. It was. (:
Thursday {29th} Taylor rode along as I took the boys to the doctor. The coughing had gotten worse through the night & both boys woke with fevers. Yuck! I thought we had escaped it. Just out of curiosity {because it felt like a long time since we'd last been to the doctor}, I asked when our last visit was. It was over 6 months ago for a well child check up for Beckham! So they hadn't been sick in a long time. Made me so grateful. We saw a new doctor I hadn't seen before & I liked her a lot. She was great with the kids, made Grayson feel immediately comfortable, and both of them liked her. Gray just had a bad cold, but she could tell Beckham had croup right away. We did a breathing treatment on him there that helped a lot, but he HATED it. Poor baby cried the entire time. We had a little man video taping the entire event. (: Toward the end Grayson came over & held the tube in front of Bex' face rather than using the mask & he calmed down quite a bit for that. Tender mercies. We got med prescriptions & headed out with coins for the toy machine.
Sidenote: You may notice that Grayson rarely wears clothes & think that I never dress him. Lest you do think this, let me set the record straight. He gets dressed each morning-usually fully dressed-and then at some point, goes to the bathroom. He puts on his undies & discards his pants because he'll probably have to go again pretty soon anyway, right? Then, he wants to dress up in a superhero costume, so discards his shirt & wears a costume for a while. At some point he realizes he's too hot in the costumes & gets rid of that, leaving just his undies. If we go somewhere, he gets clothed again, if not, it's often bathtime/bedtime before he gets fully dressed again. We're working on it. (:

I totally laughed out loud about your disclaimer of Gray's attire. I just thought that's how he chose to be...comfortable. So sorry the boys were sick. Not fun at all. Hope everyone is completely healthy and all is well. Love that you're catching up on your blog. Keep them coming and DON"T stop at the new year just so you can publish your book. I need to be caught up in your life. ;)
