the date. {February edition}

February's date envelope had the following inside:
We dropped the boys off on Friday the 24th at Taylor & Talon's {cannot thank them enough for doing that for us.  Grayson was SO excited all week for a sleepover at their house} around 3.  Taylor let me borrow a cute shirt and we were on our way.  Zac looked so hot and I was seriously giddy about our date.  It has been a LONG time since we went on an actual date {one of the many reasons this gift was perfect}, and we intended to make the most of it.
First stop was to Deseret book so I could grab a birthday gift for a friend.  We just stayed a minute & then headed through the car wash.  The Bimmer is a beauty when she's clean & we had to clean her before driving into the BMW lot to check out the new 3 series.  We sat in 5 different models on the showroom floor and dreamed about driving with the top down in our future date car.  (:  After that we drove into downtown Boise & found a long term parking place.  We held hands and walked to PF Chang's for dinner.  It was the first time we'd eaten there and there was a 60-75 minute wait time.  We didn't have anything else to do for a while, so we were fine with it.  We sat & people watched, visited, and decided what to order.  I loved the time to just chat with Zac about non-kid/work related stuff.
They got us seated after about 45 minutes {I think it was because I complimented the welcome girls}, and we had a wonderful experience there.  SO delicious!  We will definitely be making reservations first & eating there again.  Often.  We did the date special for two and each had egg drop soup {so yummy!}, chicken lettuce wraps {amazing}, honey crisped chicken/mandarin chicken with brown rice, and then mini desserts.  Triple chocolate mousse for me & cheesecake for him.  Those 8 tiny bites from that shotglass were completely divine and just the perfect amount.  It was all incredibly yummy.  Our service was incredible-even the manager came over to check in & chat-and I had the yummiest guy sitting beside me all night.  We bantered back & forth like we were first dating and laughed at our silly antics.  So so fun.
After we finished we headed out and strolled across the street to the knitting factory to see The Fray perform.  We edged our way into the crowd till we were pretty close & in a comfortable standing spot and Zac stood behind me with his arms around me pretty much the entire evening.  We LOVE live music and the atmosphere that comes with it.  Scars on 45 opened for them and were super good and then The Fray came out.  They did not disappoint and are as good if not better live because you can hear all their nuances.  Good good stuff.  We had a great conversation on the way home about the show, the evening, & our plans to end it. (:  It was weird to come home around 12:30 and not have the boys here and to know we'd be sleeping at home without the kids to wake us up or to go check on.  So nice, though.  We fully enjoyed the entire evening and the opportunity for a full night's rest & a bit of sleeping in.  February's date=a definite success!
{PS: January's date didn't happen because we were all so sick all month.  We plan on "making it up" at some point, so deets are still forthcoming}.
