Family Date Night

Saturday the 18th was a busy day.  We seem to either have super busy weekends or absolutely nothing going on, lazy ones.  I love both kinds & enjoy having a mixture.  We started the day with me heading to Boise for a TSFL training and the boys enjoying a fun time with Zac.  They played games & read books and they had a great time.  We all sang happy birthday to Papa Newell after I got home & sent baby Wren a birthday text.  Cannot believe that baby girl is one!  I stopped by Shae's bridal shower that Taylor was hosting {Shae is Talon's sister} and she did a great job.
Around 3:15, Zac and I took the boys to the theater for the first time as a family.  Gray had been once before with Aunt Doll, but was ecstatic about this trip.  We went to see Star Wars Phantom Menace in 3D.  From the minute we arrived I wished I had an invisible camera capturing every moment and word spoken.  They were seriously excited.  They ran to the counter, talked to the guy who gave us our tickets & then Zac let them each pick something from the candy counter.  That was like Christmas to them.  Then they saw a big blown up cut out of Jar Jar Binks and Beckham about climbed over the counter to get to it!  When we sat in the theater, they were so excited.  Bex sat on our laps and was a little scared during the previews, so I turned him to me and chatted with him.  Grayson wore his 3D glasses the entire time & Beckham wouldn't wear his, but still enjoyed the movie.  He moved between mine & Zac's laps a couple times, but stayed seated the entire two hours.  Grayson sat on his own chair between us and LOVED it.  He just chatted about it the whole time, laughed & sang to the songs.  Seriously entertaining.  Whenever Darth Mal was on the screen, Beckham would say, "Ohh.  No no Darth Thader!"  When it ended, they both stood up & danced like crazy to the closing credits.  Zac and I just enjoyed watching them.
We left the theater and went down the road where Taylor & Talon met us for dinner at Winger's.  The boys were great and we all had fun chatting and eating.  We knew lots of people eating there, too, which is always fun.  Yummy food, great company, awesome time as a family.  T&T took Grayson with them afterward to get ice cream & met us back at home.  A very fun night & now we know theater trips can be very successful family dates.
