Grayson can be quite the helper when he wants to be. I asked him to set the table for dinner & he did a great job. He kept asking for more jobs, so I had him take the trash out. I'm liking it!
April 3rd:
Beckham is our home's early riser. Such an adorable morning boy.
Happy happy 29th birthday to my bestie! Hijacked her blog & wished I was with her all day.
April 4th:
Grayson's Easter program in preschool. Didn't sing again, but sat pretty well and just smiled at me lots. Did a few goofy things, but was pretty chill for the most part. Afterward I asked him why he doesn't ever sing. He said, "I don't like everyone looking at me." He's his father's child in that respect. Totally adorable, though.
We like to spread our Star Wars guys all over the house.
We had a big power outage {of course it always happens right as the boys are about asleep} and enjoyed playing shadow puppets before going to sleep. Grayson said, "this is the best night ever when the power goes out!" And yes, Beckham still loves the undies under & over his pants. Simple pleasures.
April 6th:
I played super nice mom & pulled the colored bubbles out of storage. They say washable. They lie.
Green stains on both boys shoes, clothes, etc. Came off their bodies, so that's something. Both boys LOVED it and played for about an hour. I now know why they were 74 cents. Glad they had a good time, because the other bottles were discreetly thrown away.
April 7th:
Grayson was looking forward to Saturday morning and the Easter Bunny's visit as much as Christmas morning. He is a major holiday kid. They've been sleeping in til at least 8, but about 7:30, I was getting ready in my bathroom and I heard Grayson squeal, "LOOK WHO CAME!!" Totally cute. Zac grabbed Beckham from his crib and brought him out to see what the Easter bunny had brought. The Easter bunny was pretty laid back this year. It didn't matter though-you'd thought he'd spent hundreds on each kid by their reactions. They were so excited about their chairs, their star wars figures, and the m&m's. Super sweet. We heard, "I've been wanting this!" and "what a great day!" lots of times. So glad they are excited by the smallest things. It reminded us that less is often more, too.
The boys played with their guys while Zac and I got ready. We all loaded into the truck & headed to Cow Hollow park for the Easter Egg Hunt. Julie {and her kids & the 4H group} put it on and do an incredible job. Over $400 worth of candy/eggs/toys are spread out in age divided categories and this year did not disappoint at all. The boys were so excited and totally themselves. Grayson hung back a bit-even when he saw his buddy Max-and Beckham was full force running at everything. They were in separate age groups, but beside each other, so Zac went with Bex and I went with Gray. They were adorable. Got lots of candy and had fun with each other and Jaeger. Grayson shared with & helped Jaeger and Beckham and helped me keep track of his brother. He is a great helper. Beckham dug into his chocolate right away and they both enjoyed a few pieces in the car. Another reason I love the Cow Hollow hunt is that we see people we don't see too often even though we live near each other and it gives us all a chance to chat. So even though the hunt portion is over within ten minutes, we spend 45 minutes to an hour just visiting with great people who live in our community.
Afterward, we decided to make it a tradition by heading up to see the lake. The boys were so cute on the way there and Grayson kept telling us which mountain was his favorite. I feel so blessed to live within such quick driving distance of one of Heavenly Father's most beautiful places. The day was surprisingly warm and beautiful and we walked and looked around a bit before heading back to Taylor and Talon's for a quick BBQ for lunch & ladder ball {where Gray proceeded to pee outside & Taylor snapped one of my now fave pictures-the joys of being a farm kid!}. We didn't stay long and dropped Zac to work on the farm while the boys came home for nap/rest time.
The rest of the day was spent enjoying each other, reading books {theirs & mine}, taking a drive as a family, and me & Z cuddling & enjoying each other.
April 8th:
Sunday morning started bright & early since I had an early morning meeting. I got up about 6:30 and showered and then found our bathroom plug ins weren't working, so had to blow dry my hair in our room-waking Zac-and then both boys. Went to ward council & came home to help Zac get the boys ready. He had almost everything done & I did a quick run through to clean up {I refuse to leave our bed unmade-it's my biggest OCD}, and then we left. We were actually ten minutes early & realized Beckham had had a blowout. What?! That hasn't happened in a year & had to happen today! We laughed & I sent Zac home to get a change of clothes. Got him cleaned up & joined Gray and the Peterson clan before the Sacrament was passed. Sacrament meeting is always an adventure and today was no exception. I tried to focus on the spirit of the meeting and the testimonies being born, but admittedly, it was nice to get to primary. We had TONS of visitors and Julie nailed sharing time. Beautiful day. Great kids. LOUDness all over. (:
Got changed after chuch & went to my grandparent Peterson's. It was a great time. Good food, great company, ladder ball, lots of laughing & playing, and beautiful weather. The boys had a grand time chasing each other, playing with the kitty & Jaeger, and being outside. They were great. We headed to Mom & Dad's for a minute & they gave us our family Easter basket. Mom is so sweet to do that and the boys loved it. We drove to Zac's folks after that and celebrated with his family. We played more ladder ball, ate more food, had lots of laughter, built a bonfire to warm up, had an egg hunt, and the boys swung {T&T came over too, which was fun}, played with dangerous stick piles, and had a ball with their cousins. It was the most untraditional Easter I've ever had, but a perfect one for us.
I had a few minutes alone tonight to reflect on this most amazing of Holiday's and am so thankful for new life, the chance we have to all live again, and for Christ's resurrection. I LOVE this time of year-the changing of seasons, the smells/sounds/feel of summer on the horizon. I love fresh starts and Easter represents that to me in so many ways. So thankful for my Heavenly Father and my Savior. I know they live. I love them. I love the ones they've blessed me with.

I just opened one of those colored bubbles yesterday and HATED it. It was a gift on Lyndin's birthday but the last one I had in the drawer. LOVE how Bex put's underwear over his clothes. Jhett use to ALWAYS do that. I also love how your boys (big and small) adore Star Wards. So incredibly cute.
Oh you don't have to live on a farm to accomplish that. Austin thinks that is what you do when you come home from school. Good thing in the back he likes to only tinkle on the rocks. Boys! Your boys are growing up so quickly and they are so cute!
