We had planned a trip to the temple with T&T in March and then a thousand things came up, so we set the date for April 6th & planned on going together, taking the boys, and spending the night. As the week got here, T&T realized they couldn't go Friday, so we thought Thursday night {5th} would work. But that didn't work for them either, so they offered to watch our boys overnight so we could go ourselves. Of course we took them up on that offer!
I told Zac to pull out our April date night envelope in case it was something we could do while we were there. To both our surprise {I'd totally forgotten}, it was a temple date! (: Turned from day date to overnight, which we were both excited about.
The boys were happy to stay with two of their all time favorite people, so we headed out around 3 after working Thursday morning. Another fun thing? Dad let us take his Mercedes. And, it was a beautiful day so we kept the top down for most the drive there {till we got to windy valley, that is}. It was great! We had a blast chatting and enjoying the 2.5 hour trip. Checked into our hotel {we had a 2 room suite which was sweet! because we'd thought there would be 6 of us}, changed into church clothes, and headed to do a session at the beautiful Twin Falls temple. It is gorgeous and it had been far too long. Just driving up to it I told Zac, 'It's like seeing an old friend." I just feel hugged as soon as I walk in. We so enjoyed our time there and after we were done we got dinner at Cafe Rio. It was delicious and the company was perfect. We took a little jaunt around town to check it out, headed back to our hotel, took a dip in our HUGE jacuzzi tub, watched a couple of our shows on Hulu, and then took a late night snack run to Winco {fruit/granola/yogurt/water}, and had a snack & went to bed. Bliss.
We had a great night's sleep, highly enjoyed sleeping in a bit, and got ready to go. We headed back to the temple to do another session and enjoyed it as much or more than the night before since we were so refreshed. I'm just amazed each time I enter a temple at the exquisite details and beauty. Even the smallest details are incredible {like between the entrance & the front desk}. Love it. Loved being there with my sweetie. So thankful we were able to make the trip.
We headed out & drove to Nampa where we did a quick Costco trip & lunch at TGIFriday's. I love any time alone with Zac and this 24 hour period did not disappoint. We laughed, talked, and were strengthened and resolved to be better. And, to make it a monthly occurrence rather than waiting so long to go even though it's further away till Boise and Meridian are done. A HUGE thanks to T&T {and Mom who watched Gray for a few hours Friday morning} for always loving our boys. They are the best surrogate parents we could ask for and some of our very best friends, which is a great bonus.
April's date of the month was definitely a success!

SO glad you were able to take the opportunity together. Aren't surrogate parents the best?!
