march. week four.

March 26th:
Spent family time this evening all together.  Love those nights.  Before bedtime, Beckham climbed up to the kitchen counter, got in his seat, and entertained himself with stickers for an hour straight.  Grayson put fake teeth in his mouth & acted out Toy Story for Zac and me.  Easy entertainment & stickers for all!

March 27th:
Had a business lunch meeting with Zac.  I always enjoy those.  I'm thankful that we are aware of each other's business goals and helping each other achieve them.  Jocey babysat the boys while we were away and impressed us again with her complete capability!  She had the house spotless, Beckham napped, and both boys begging to have her come again, so a definite success.

March 28th:
Visited with Becca today for a bit.  Love that cute girl.  Always inspired to be better at exercising consistently, eating right, etc., after being with her.  Hosted a client support night & it went well.  We have exciting news...Nyssa got a SUBWAY!  So I stopped there and grabbed dinner for the fam.  Yummy!

March 29th:
The boys and I hadn't been to the library in a really long time because Taylor usually has them on the week days it is open, but she watched them different days this week so Thursday we decided to take a trip.  It was a joy to be there.  Grayson wanders around and picks out books and Beckham plays with the dinosaurs and/or puzzles.  Beckham is working on his quiet voice...okay, he needs to work on it, but he's so dang cute.  Grayson is super fun to take because he is beginning to really love reading.  I hope I instill a love for books in my kids because it is definitely one of my all time favorite hobbies.  I LOVE to read, love all genres of books, and love the endless possibilities that come with a new book.  For imagination, for getting away, for conversation & blog fodder, and for helping me become a better person.

My heart totally warmed at one point when Grayson came up and asked, "Can you help me find The Lorax, Mom?"  I LOVE that he was thinking of a book he wanted to read, knew the name, and had a desire to find it & take it home to enjoy it.  We found it-along with 18 other items-and headed home to enjoy.  We read through most of them tonight & will enjoy them for a couple weeks before returning them.  Beckham attached himself to the Franklin and Clifford books and even slept with them tonight. {On a positive note, he seems to have been cured of his ripping habit...at least he's treating the library books with respect.}
Courtney & I had talked a while ago about exchanging kids once a month or so to allow the other couple a date night out.  I offered to watch her kiddos this week and she said Troy was working late, but she'd been wanting to get some painting done {which is almost impossible with kids}, so she brought Max and Peyton over about 4.  We had a great time with them.  The boys all played really well together, dressed up in about 14 costumes, played with playdo, and watched a couple shows.  Peyton is a doll baby and was so sweet.  Grayson was even a fan, which is basically a miracle. (:  There are always things said when Grayson has friends over that I want to write down and remember, but I never do.  One thing I loved this time was while I was making dinner, I had Adele playing on the computer.  The kids were playing at the table & I was singing.  Max said, "Say, 'Rumor has it.'"  I cracked up because he obviously knew Adele's stuff and I could totally see Gray saying something similar.  Love it.  They were great and Court picked them up around 8:30 when they were all in jammies and watching Diego.

March 31st:
We got a refurbished {used} iPad for the boys a while back to enjoy on long trips, waits at appointments, etc., and haven't really let them play with it much because we want it to stay a novelty + be looked at as a special treat.  They did so well with it during conference on Saturday.  They sat together to enjoy some PBSkids shows quietly, and then we set it up on an easel at the table & they took pictures of themselves in photobooth and giggled for an hour!  Totally worth keeping them busy while I listened to conference & cooked in the kitchen.  Beckham even sat for about ten minutes in my chair at the computer {where I was streaming it live} and watched Elder Uchtdorf speak.  They both said "Amen" every time a speaker got done and said it, so even if nothing sank in, at least I know they were sort of in tune.  I thoroughly enjoyed conference & so enjoy this time of year, especially this talk by Elder Holland, which I so needed to hear.  I even called Amber & told her about it because we'd just been discussing this topic.  The day was spent with the boys & when Zac went to his priesthood meeting that evening, we just chilled together {all my fam was at conference in SLC & Zac's fam was busy, too}.  It was a nice relaxing evening.

April 1st:
We enjoyed conference as a family {and conference rolls} this morning.  L&K had to visit a friend at the hospital, so we got Jaeger in between sessions.  He was great & the boys played well together.  Halfway through second session & Bex's nap, we went to welcome my folks home.  We ate lunch and stayed for a bit & then headed to Cleaver's where we chilled with the fam & the cousins for a couple hours.  A very good conference weekend and a great day!  So thankful for the gospel, for my eternal family, and for time spent with those I love.
