Grayson had his first dentist appointment with Dr. Timmons today. If you remember our experience from almost 2 years ago, (different dentist) you'll know why it took us so long to try again. He was actually kind of looking forward to it & was PERFECT the entire time. I could tell he was nervous on the way over, but he said he was great. In the waiting room he found some toys & played with Fischer. The hygienist, Kris, was awesome and he just chatted with her and answered all her questions. She took X-rays & cleaned his teeth. He got to watch the Croods and picked cookie dough flavor for teeth cleaning and caramel flavor for flouride. A little ways into it she said he had a little cavity on the top front tooth and later when Dr. Timmons mentioned it, he said, "How bout I brush my teeth 22 times a day from now on?" Haha! He said twice would suffice. (; When he was almost done Kris said, "I've loved having you here, Grayson. You've done awesome and I appreciate you! Thanks for being so great." He said, "Yeah, especially for a kid, huh?!" They recommended not worrying about his cavity since his baby teeth will still fall out in front. We are more committed than ever to flossing too, which will help. In his goodie bag he got a new toothbrush/paste, and a timer to use when he brushes. He's a major "by the book" rule follower, so he promised he would use it morning & night. He was an absolute charmer the whole time and loved picking out of the treasure chest at the end. Phew-so thankful for tender mercies and a renewed like for the dentist! And, especially grateful for this boy who is growing up before my eyes and never ceases to amaze me.
