2 down, 18 to go...

Doses that is.

Last night was our hardest yet with Mr. Gray. He went down good around 9:15 and slept great till 2:30 when he woke up coughing super hard and couldn't get back to sleep because he'd just cough and cough and cough...and he had a fever of 103 that wouldn't break. Zac and I both got up with him and for the first time {in his little sick history-he always prefers Zac to play with over me!} he wanted Zac over me. I know it made Zac feel good and although it was a little heartbreaking for me that he didn't want his mama, I was glad and can't help but feel he's being prepared for when the next little man will need me and Gray will need daddy. They cuddled and rocked and eventually he fell asleep again around 5:30 and we all slept for a few hours. I canceled his eye appointment for today and took him into the doctor again instead. Mom went with me which is always helpful. Gray definitely did not want to be there and kept letting us know by saying, "I'm all done!" over and over. Poor kid does NOT like doctors-and who can really blame him?! Anyway, she checked his ears and found an ear infection in his left ear-first one ever-which explains the still not feeling good, fever, cough, congestion, etc. She prescribed amoxicillan again which he does pretty well on usually, but with his recent revolt on all things medicinal, I was worried about having to fight him twice a day for 10 days-hence the 20 doses altogether. He did well today though with the two he had to take, so hopefully as he starts feeling better, the medicine process will go just as smoothly. Even though he is not feeling well and is super clingy and just wants to be loved, held, and played with, he is such a great kid and I am grateful we have a diagnosis so that he can start feeling better!

I am sorry that he has an ear infection. I know all too well what that is like and how much they hurt. The amoxicillan should help him start feeling better soon. It always seemed that Greg perked up after the second day of the meds. And Greg does NOT want me to give him meds anymore, just giving him tyelnol is a battle. I pray for a super fast healing this week. Love you.

Hey Karl! Glad they gave him something to help! It usually only takes a day or two to see improvement. Jake is my crouper---the others can have the same virus passed around--Jake's goes into croup. At least twice a year--they say they grow out of it...but I'm still waiting for that!:) Hope he gets better soon!
