Grandpa Alan's sun

Yesterday Zac took Gray to church and Beckham and I stayed home. It was nice to bond with him and get some things done & just relax. After a long 3.5 hour nap for everyone, we hung out at my parents & ate a delicious steak/potatoes dinner. Grandpa was saying how his hair was going and Jaeger's was coming in strong! This is one cute duo! Grandpa Alan told Grayson if he was good he could plant potatoes with him in the morning-when the light came out. Grayson said several times, "We're just waiting for the light to come out!" He went to bed good & knew that when he woke up and the sun was out, he'd get to go spend some time with Grandpa. Around 5:00 am this morning, I heard him yelling from his room, "I wanna go ride with Grandpa Alan!" {repeated about 7 times}. I went in to tell him it wasn't light yet and he went back to sleep till 7:30. When he got up he sat by the window in the living room looking out at the rainy-sky day and kept saying, "I'm just waiting for Grandpa Alan's sun to come out." So matter of fact. So sweet. So in love with his Grandpa. I love it. I was telling Zac how I loved that my dad has been such a hands on Grandpa with Grayson and look forward to Beckham having a close relationship with him as well.

Even though the sun really didn't ever come out to play today, it was a nice warm day and Grayson loved getting some time with Grandpa Alan. I got a quick nap while he and Beckham napped and my mom watched Grayson so Zac and I could take Beckham to his circumcision appointment. I went in with him this time and had Zac run some errands for me! (: I have definitely gotten better since my experience with Grayson {I had my mom go in with him while I bawled in the hallway!}. I held Beckham's hand and talked with the doctor throughout the whole procedure. He did awesome too! Barely made a peep and loved his sugar water! Afterward I fed him and then noticed it was still bleeding a bit, so she had to cauterize it which he wasn't too crazy about it and I did feel a little faint then, but we made it through. He is such a sweet & mellow little guy so far. Came home to a great meal from the Dudley's and relaxed. We are trying to implement Family Home Evenings on Monday nights and tonight we sang songs and then focused our lesson/story on Reverence. Both me and Zac made up a story about a little boy and incorporated reverence into it. Gray was so attentive and demonstrated folding his arms for us when it was over. I had to laugh because I named the boy in my story Billy Ruben and Zac named the boy in his story Billy Jean...which led to me singing, "is not my lover!" under my breath for a while. We finished with family prayer-in which Grayson was most definitely not on his best reverent behavior (argh!) and were done for the night. My next goal is to make a little FHE binder with ideas for this age group-we'll see if that happens! Candace, where did you get your felt board & accessories?
After watching the Twilight movies together, I talked Zac into letting me read the books aloud to him. We've been doing that at night the past two nights after the boys are in bed together and it's been so fun! We are only 100 or so pages into the first book, but we are both enjoying it and the time together. I swear he is the greatest guy! Better get to bed!

I'm certainly no poster child for FHE excellence, but I did buy the new nursery manual and we use it a lot. It's all right there with visual aides and coloring sheets. I figure the boys can stand a little repetition! It's certainly nice for quick prep!

I was also going to tell you to get the nursery manual. It is awesome!
I cannot believe you stayed in there while they circumsized your kiddo. You are seriously one tough Mom. I really dont think I could do that. Ryker had his done while still in the hospital and for that I am glad. We got it done with fast and I didnt have to worry about it.

You do have a great guy. I love the little ones too. They are both so sweet and so mellow. I love it. Brian got the felt board on his mission. Not sure where but Jhett loves it. We rotate and sometimes we just use church pictures and show him those and tell the story. We usually read a few church books, do a picture or felt board story, and sing songs. Jhett loves it! I'm so happy things are going well. Life has finally calmed so call me if you get a chance.

Yeah way to go on the circumcision thing, I couldn't go in, Alison went in for me, phew! That was a cute story about Grayson and waiting for the sun to come out, he's got quite the memory! Surely I'll make apron for him! Fell free to send any ideas or pics of how you might want it to look like! Also maybe height measurements and what not. ;)

Tell Zac that Daniel ended up liking them because we read them together and so did my cousins husband..oh the gaffed at the mushy parts but loved the action in them. Your boys are so cute!!! Let me know how you end up doing FHE I have been thinking for awhile to start doing something.
