a seriously good guy

Last night Zac and I had a date night at home. Got Gray in bed by 8:00 and Beckham fed and to sleep and we cuddled on the couch and watched-get ready for this-the first and second Twilight movies. I had seen the first one, but Zac hadn't, so he watched them both with me. I told him he's quite a good man for putting up with Twilight for his wife. I think he secretly somewhat enjoys the story although I've told him the books are MUCH better than the movies.

{As a quick sidenote, one of my favorite things to see growing up in my parents home was that they always held hands. When they were in the car, chilling on the couch, walking together places, etc...and I thought it was so dang cool. I totally looked forward to having a husband that would hold my hand. And Zac does. I have to say it is still one of my favorite things about getting to live & be with my best friend all the time. While sitting and watching the movies, we held hands and I just felt grateful to have him as a constant in my life.}

We finished around 1:15 am, which was way too late, but we were hooked...and I had to be up to feed Beckham again anyway. (: We were ready to head to bed and the party started at that point. In the almost two weeks we've been home with Beckham, he and Grayson have both slept fabulously every night. They've both gone down between 8 & 9 and then slept all night and I have just had to wake Beckham at 1:00 & 5:00 to feed & change him. They both have been waking for the day between 8 & 9. It's been great for me and Zac and both boys have been happier because of it, I'm sure. Last night was a different story. Grayson woke up around 3:00 for some reason and wouldn't go back to bed. I finally just let him come out to the couch and lay down out there (I was out there with Beckham). He didn't go back to sleep until about 5:45 though. He just sat up and talked quietly to himself-crazy kid! And, Beckham struggled too. Just a lot of grunting (I think he just had bad gas) and seeming uncomfortable. We have yet to hear him really use his lungs & he has been such a great & mellow sleeper, so it was sad to see him so uncomfortable. I was SO tired from staying up too late-that will teach us-that I was only half awake through all of this too. We all finally got some sleep and when Grayson woke up, Zac took him into our room and cuddled and talked with him so Beckham and I could get some more sleep. Hopefully tonight is better!

I love that you and Zac have that kind of relationship too. Lucky you to have such great sleepers. I'm afraid I have a long road ahead of me. :) Beckham is darling. I didn't comment enough on the last post but I love his little face and beedy eyes. Have you ever thought that Beckham and Lyndin could date? Let's be old fahsioned and arrange a marriage. Love you much friend.

Sounds like a lovely date!
Thats crazy that Gray would wake up and stay up for so long. HE usually doesn't do that right?
I wish I could hold little Beckham!

When those books came out I jumped on them...through reading them I would talk about how Edward was so hot, and how he just loved Bella, and how fabulous and hot Jake was. I think Spencer got tired of me talking about it and not really knowing what was going on, he picked up the books too. So now when the movies comes out all my girl friends go to the movie and I take my husband. Spencer is good to go to the movie with me...but I know he likes them just as much as I do.

Zac is a good man! We haven't seen "New Moon" yet, but Kyle had taken me to the theater to see the first one. When I was reading the books, he would always come home from work and asked me what had happened in the story that day. I agree that they probably secretly really do think it's a cool story. You and Zac are so cute! Kyle and I have gotten out of the habit of holding hands, but you've just made me remember how much I loved it. Time to start back up again. I want to be a cool parent, too! Sorry the boys had a rough night that night, but so glad that you and Zac had a fun date night at home.

Dang! I was hoping that this would be a really juicy, secret telling kind of post. You know since you were so tired. The randomest things come out of my mouth when I am tired. Next time work harder on letting out your inner secrets...kay? :0)

It was so nice to see you guys. Thanks for letting us drop in and hang out for awhile. You are doing an amazing job of balancing the two boys. And I am glad that you guys were able to have a date night!

Amen to the hand-holding thing. Steve and I were at a Christmas concert a while back and I was really surprised when I looked down the row and saw that most of the couples were not holding hands. I guess I'm just lucky that any time Steve is in close enough proximity, he'll hold my hand. It's a good thing! You have yourself a good guy!
