Happy birthday Amber!

27 things I love about Amber {in no particular order}:

1. Her handwriting. She seriously has the cutest handwriting ever. Think of the cutest handwriting you’ve ever seen…I bet hers is cuter. (:

2. She reminds me of so many good things in my life. She has the cutest toes/toenails (check her business blog out to see: www.amberfischer.com/blog/) & willingly paints mine.

3. That she will laugh so hard with me she almost wets her pants. Love this so much & yes, I’ve definitely capitalized on this at times.

4. Her choice in husbands. So glad she chose the one she did-he’s perfect for her and a great bestie for my husband.

5. Her mad photography skills. She is my favorite. Not because she's my best friend, but because I seriously love her style. She captures people as they are & where they are. Real life at it's best and most memorable. I love this about her.

6. She is generous. With her time, talents, abilities, and means.

7. I know she would do anything for me. I could ask her to drop what she's doing and run to Boise for something for me and she'd do it. She'd come take care of me or my kids for the day if I was sick. She constantly brings stuff to me when she comes over, picks up my favorite drink, or grabs a book for me to read when I'm not feeling great. I do not take this lightly.

8. She appreciates music. Few people know that Amber is a talented pianist & singer, but I do. She loves all genres of music and you never know what you'll get when you ride in her car, listen to her playlist on her computer, or turn on her record player. I love that. She has introduced me to several artists I wouldn't have found myself.

9. She is super funny. She tells stories so well and makes me laugh everytime. We have a similar sense of humor and can always find something to laugh about together.

10. We are comfortable together. More so than with most girls because we have that shared past of awkward growing up moments: awful glasses/braces/clothing choices/pimples, etc. & know that nothing these days would beat those days in that regard!

11. There is no pressure or unrealistic expectations in our friendship. We know where we stand with each other & don't question it. I know she would never intentionally do anything to hurt me and this helps us not have misunderstandings.

12. She loves to read. We talk about books & share them often.

13. She loves & wears cute shoes. I am often in awe of how cute they are. She will even offer to let me borrow them if they match my outfit for any ocassion. How nice is that?

14. I know her insecurities and fears & feel protective of her & want to shield her from these things.

15. Amazing cooking skills. She has tried lots of recipes in the past year and I've been the recipient of many of them and all are spectacular.

16. Creative. She thinks of great ideas and then implements them. She makes dull things cute. She was the most creative friend growing up and always came up with cute little gifts & notes for every holiday and special day. She continues to write sweet notes at unexpected times that can always lift me up {ie: hijacking my blog at unexpected times}.

17. We've always had an open communication about faith & God {and everything else!} and I love this. We don't attend the same church, but respect each other so much & know each other so well it has never been a barrier or an obstacle. I'm grateful for this.

18. She loves to wear pajamas & doesn't mind staying in them all day. In this way we are so alike.

19. When she compliments you, it's genuine. And she gives them out often. You know she's sincere which I love.

20. This is the 14th birthday I've gotten to celebrate with her. We've been friends now longer than we haven't been.

21. She knows me and loves me anyway. I mean she really knows me. She doesn't judge me and I trust her implicitly. She has heard more of my weird dreams, my fears, my real life aspirations, and more, and always accepts me anyway.

22. She has a great memory and is thoughtful about using things she knows about people when she works with them.

23. She has fun with life. She doesn't take things too seriously and is easygoing and fun to be around.

24. She has been an intricate part of every big event in my life.

25. I can spend hours, days, weeks with her and not get tired of it. We've often joked that we married men who had similar traits to each other (she & Zac are a lot alike & me and Todd are) & that if our husbands pass away before we do-they are both five years older than us-than we will buy an apartment together and have fun being old friends-shopping, watching movies, reading, and eating yummy stuff!

26. She often reminds me of Lauren Graham who happens to be my all time favorite Gilmore Girls actress. She loves Gilmore Girls & we've many episodes together.

27. She appreciates & makes a big deal of the little things. She doesn't just look at my scrapbooks/blog books, she reads them. She remembers things that are important to me. She makes a big deal of my birthday. She makes a big deal of every time we get together. She never makes me feel like a burden & has captured my married life with kids through photos in a beautiful way. She is the real deal. She's my best friend and I love her. So glad she was born 27 years ago...
