-I've actually been trying a few things I find on Pinterest. Awesome, right? I found a bunch of cords and put them in old CD holders. I also found an upright magazine holder and put all our wax paper, foil, saran wrap in it & it fits nicely beside our microwave. Much simpler & cleaner. I sure love my visual dream board!
-On Friday {9.16}, Zac went to my folks to watch the BSU game and I got the boys in bed and was working on some business filing in the garage. I had propped the door open and could hear the boys doing their usual nightly routine of talking and laughing. Suddenly I heard them laughing quite a bit and went into investigate. Beckham was sitting in his crib with 2 nilla wafers in each hand and Gray had some in his mouth and the box beside him on his bed. This was our conversation:
k- we don't eat in bed, Grayson.
g- how did you know i was?
k- just because.
g- because i left the cupboard open?
k- yes
g- urgyle socks. next time i should shut it!
Ha! Quite the thinker & mischievous one!
-I got the boys matching outfits at Children's Place and got them dressed. They are so dang cute. Grayson has been wearing his patch faithfully fourteen hours each week and I'm so proud of how big he is about it. I tried patching mine for about five minutes and it was super frustrating and annoying, so I think he's pretty awesome. Beckham adores his big brother even when Grayson isn't always kind to him. They were getting along pretty good this day, though. Cute boys.
-We spent some time at Cleaver's after church one Sunday {9.18}. Grayson was beyond excited to show me Grandma Wendy's "secret garden." It is actually really awesome. She planted wild flowers out there, made a path {which Grayson is adamant about telling us that it leads to the fire station and the bank}, and put up a swing and a bench. It is really peaceful and a beautiful thinking spot. Grayson does awesome playing out there and totally uses his very active imagination. Beckham is another story. I am a wreck trying to keep him from falling in the ditch, stickers, etc. It's pretty awesome out there.
-I pulled out all the Fall decorations to deck out the house before the Shelf Reliance party. Grayson loves to help organize, decorate, etc., and had a ball looking through all the stuff. I happened to grab the costume box and he found the Darth Vader costume {which was for a 7-8 year old} and he LOVED it. He has had no prior introduction to Darth Vader, but put it on and wore it all day. Needless to say, Zac-a huge Star Wars fan-was pretty happy to come home to this kid. Grayson tells people every time he is wearing it {and yes, he wore it with his snow boots to the store a couple times}, "I'm Darth Abader. This is just a costume though...and it's more like Bailey's size than mine!" And, I love Fall decorations and the warmth I feel at home right now. I also love my skeleton glow in the dark baby. {I know he's not a real baby anymore, but he's my baby & I want to keep it that way for a long time} (: We dressed him as the monkey from last year and he looked like a chubby little man-so cute!
-Amber and I spent the day together in Boise last week {9.27}. My boys stayed with Morgan and Ella stayed with Megan. We took Wrennie and had a good time. We were birthday shopping for Todd and she got what she wanted and we enjoyed the chance to get away together. We just did the standbys: Target, Costco, Olive Garden, but it was a great time. I so love spending time with her.
-Morgan came over and we worked on her wedding invite. It's going to be cute and she is adorable. My boys love playing with her and it's fun planning with her, too. Amber took her and Brian's pics when he was visiting & they are awesome. Such a beautiful couple.
-For the longest time I thought my second counselor, Annette was writing our Primary Program. When I asked her about it, she told me she thought I was writing it. Oops-huge miscommunication. So, I got to work. Those who know me know that I procrastinated. Fortunately {and unfortunately because I tend to never learn my lesson}, it seemed to work in my favor. I spent two full days last week working on it and felt an abundance of the spirit throughout that time. I think the Lord was taking pity on me because it seems like I have my hands in a thousand different {necessary} things and feel like I'm not really excelling at any of them, so He gave me a break. (: I LOVE being in the Primary primarily because of the kids. I'm happy with how the program turned out so far and hope that it goes well.
-I divided the primary kids up & took half. Annette took the other half. We delivered their program parts and some conference packets to their homes {9.29}. It is always a good experience for me to get into the kids homes and feel the spirit and mood they are living in. We have some great kids. My boys were SO patient to sit in the car at each stop and because our ward is so spread out, my half took about two hours to get around to. They sat so patiently and I rewarded them with donuts from the rock store and a movie night at home. I am so thankful for them.
-We celebrated Todd's 33rd birthday by going out last weekend {30th}. Morgan babysat for us and we met Todd & Amber {& baby Wren} in town. Zac drove his bimmer so we rode in luxury. (: Amber and I visited in the back while the guys chatted in front. It never fails that the days you have plan are the most stressful and this one didn't disappoint. It was a crazy day from wake up to the time we needed to leave. It never fails though-a good night with Amber and Todd makes it all better. We went to eat at a new place Todd had been wanting to try, Mickey Ray's BBQ. It was delicious! We ate outside which was nice and gave Todd his gift. He's not a fan of pictures, but was a good sport & he wasn't praying over his food while I snapped a picture, I just wanted to get his HUGE meal he ordered {he only ate about 1/4 of it & took the rest home!} After dinner, we dropped the guys at the scary corn maze {just being there brought back scary memories from last year!} and Amber and I went to Target and perused until they kicked us out. We hung out & visited till the guys called. On the way home there was a couple minutes of quiet because we were all exhausted and I was so grateful for this great couple and their influence in our lives. We are so glad Todd was born and that he found Amber. I couldn't imagine a more perfect husband for my best friend or a great friend for my husband. We love you Todd! It was a great night and we got home to two sleeping boys. A great way to end September.

So glad you are having such good times. You always do such a great job decorating for the holidays. I have still been sad for you about Amber & Todd. Just think it will be a fun vacation spot. I'm sure your program will be perfect. You always say you aren't exceling in any one area but I think you're totally wrong. You are remarkable in EVERY area. Love you.
Ok Karli, I want to know how you put out candy in your cute little dishes and don't take a handful everytime you walk by, because that is what I do. I like to mix candycorn and pumpkins with dry roasted peanuts. Yum, Yum. It is terrible for my eating and exercising.
